Title: So I've decided to play FFT for the first time....
Post by: nfitc1 on 2011-12-06 00:01:50
I've had FFT:WotL for a while, but only recently decided to start my first game. I don't know much about it or the battle system. Can any one offer tips/clue me into missable things/tell me the best farming locations and classes/etc?

Best way to gain jobs is to have whatever job you wish as your main and squire as the backup. Then just keep throwing stones at everyone.

You can gain experience and job points by targeting your own characters also.  Send some characters out to fight the battle, and keep a few in a corner to beat the crap out of, and then subsequently, heal one another.  I particularly enjoyed gang beating Algus and Delita early in the game.

Ahaa I do enjoy beating on the useless guests....

also, if you get the Focus ability for Squires, it increases your physical attack by +1 (regrettably, all changes are reset after battle...) and the animation doesn't take very long.
once you have JP Boost (also Squire:- I strongly recommend getting this ability asap) then it makes things a bit faster.
with regards to missable items though... the only one I can think of is the Tynar Rouge, but that's quite late-game. Look on GameFAQs if you want to learn how to get it, I can't remember.

My advice though; always have a healer
There is nothing more annoying than a character dying once you get them to the jobs you wanted  :'(
