Title: Problem running away
Post by: fitscotgaymer on 2012-04-09 18:03:46
Hey folks.

I am having a wee problem with my FF7 here, in that I basically can not ever run away from a fight ever because for some reason the game/my computer doesn't recognise when I press the page up and page down keys...

So no running away.

Um, not quite sure why since all the other keys work fine. Is there any way I can remap the run away keys or something?

Thanks...

You sure numlock is off if using the numpad?  That would be my first suspicion...  not sure if that can affect the game, it does on another I know.

I know I am double posting here but... I tried turning off and on num lock and that isnt working.

It's the oddest thing.

My first suspicion would be that those two keys are on the same "switch" and can't be pressed at the same time. That's a hardware issue. You can fix it by mapping those functions to other buttons.

So you have tried pressing number 3 and 9 on your numberpad to run away ? if it still isn't working go to the in-game menu and config and click controller config to change the button

Ah no.

I was pressing the actual page up and page down buttons. lol. Cos ya know thats what the manual tells u to press.

Lol. Feel daft now.

3 and 9 worked! Thanks!

Can't imagine people people playing this game with the keyboard instead of a gamepad

I do for testing but that's because I am too lazy to pick up the pad off the floor

I use a Xbox360 controller normally for PC games (i also use XBCD driver is great since it allows remapping of buttons) but sometimes i am in the middle of a game on my 360 and i can't use my controller so i am sometimes forced to use my keyboard (but i much prefer a controller)

you should check out joytokey (i think that's what it called) so you can map the keyboard buttons to the controller
