I've looked all over for a resolution to this problem but couldn't find one. None of the music for the game is playing. Can anyone help me out?
-
Are you using any mods? FF7Music? If so, did you install it through Bootleg?
-
Yes I installed all my mods through bootloader
-
which music profile are you using? If you're not sure, go into the start menu and open ff7music, go into configure, and in the files tab see which one is selected from the dropdown menu
-
Bootleg is my profile
-
Okay, that rules out like half a dozen things that could be wrong.
What output plugin is ff7music set to use?
-
out_wave.dll
-
Try switching it to out_ds.dll, and tell me if it works.
-
No dice. I don't know if it matters but ff7 Config has the Waveable sync thing set as the MIDI player
-
Wavetable synth *

Hi Nogueirn
Start FF7 config with admin rights. Go to "Sound" and "MIDI" and make each test. Can you hear something?
-
Hey friend, on both sound and the Microsoft Wavetable synth MIDI tests I can hear music and sound
-
Hi Nogueirn
Add the files "FF7Music.ini", "FF7Music.log" and "app.log" from the FF7Music folders in a zip archive.
Add from your [game folder] the file "ff7_opengl.cfg" into the archive.
Is in your [game folder] the file "app.log" exists, rename it to "app2.log" and paste it into the archive.
Is in your [game folder] the folder "Ficedula" exist, add it into the archive.
Maybe Take a screenshot from FF7Music-Config-Window and put it into the zip archive.
Upload it anywhere and send me the link

There it is. Let me know if anything is missing
-
Ok, I examine that, one moment please...
So far everything seems to be fine, except that "FF7Music.log"
It seems as if Kramer FF7 AnyCD patch interferes
Can you turn that off?
-
How do I turn it off?
-
I also just made a stupid mistake by changing the name of a folder by accident. Can you tel me the original name?
http://uploading.com/files/1dc9f8ac/Untitled.png/
It's in the picture. The folder inside of it is called "bootleg"
-
Original name of the folder should be "mods", very important folder!
In the folder "LOADR" should be some dll files. If you move the right dll file to another folder, should AnyCD patch not be enabled. If that does not help, you can push back this. Then you can move to the next dll.
-
I'm not sure I understood correctly. I moved each dll out of the folder one by one and checked each time if the music came back and it didn't
-
Yes. We should find out what dll interferes.
-
I did it and nothing changed. If it means anything I moved them to the desktop
-
Hi Nogueirn
The point is to remove the dlls outside the folder "LOADR", so the game can no longer find them.
So you lose even one or another feature in the game, eg the AnyCD patch.
Since that apparently does nothing, I was probably wrong
The error will then somewhere else.
Sliding back all the dlls in the folder "LOADR", so everything is back as before.
The last thing you can check for me even now following
Open the file "ff7_opengl.cfg" with Notepad, go to the bottom line and make a # in front of that line.
# load_library = Multi.dll
Save it and start the game. Do you still have no music, my suspicion was completely wrong
That means I can not help you I obviously.
Remove the # and ask Covarr or PitBrat for help.
Do not forget to point to this thread, so they can see what you've already done to find the error.
Nice greetings Kompass63
-
Still nothing :( Thanks for the help, I'll be sure to ask them
-
For anybody else that reads this thread, I downloaded the Remastered OST, if that helps
-
I downloaded the Remastered OST, if that helps
Yes, it probably helps (I'm an idiot, forgot to ask :x)
-
Lol it's okay kompass. You've helped alot :D
-
Let me know if the problem (No music playing ) is done by downloading the Remastered OST and inserting that.
-
What do you mean?
-
Due to a massive goof-up in the latest version of my installer (which bootleg uses), the remastered soundtrack doesn't install correctly. If you've downloaded it extract the files to a folder in ff7music's install directory called "OSTRe".
Though, if you're using the Bootleg profile, I'm not sure if this'll fix it. I don't know how many songs from this soundtrack the bootleg profile actually uses.
-
I should also use ipMIDI as the main MIDI player as well, correct?
-
Ahh that did it covarr. It didn't work before when you first told me to do it but now it's perfect. Thank everyone so much for the help, kompass and covarr, i'm forever in your debt :D
