Hi guys, I recently struggled to install FF7 and finally got it working. The regula game icon launches the game itself and functions fine. But when I try to run the FF7 PRP, it launches to a black screen and then closes. I followed the instructions exactly. My cd's are scratched so I used a mounted iso with daemons tools to get the game running. I downloaded a mod pack from TPB which included the FF7 PRP and other compatible mods such as Aalis custom graphics driver. It even game with codecs to fix the various errors (after downloaded the codecs the game worked but FF7 PRP still goes to black screen. Any help would be appreciated, I'm new to modding ff7 so go easy on me.

Apparently Aalis custom patch is not installed correctly. When I try to extract to the FF7 folder it tells me access denied. So I dragged the folders there instead. That must not have worked..

PRP is outdated and causes numerous problems.
Instead, use one of these mods:
Bootleg0038.zip PitBrat Bootleg Configurator Qhimm (http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=12008.msg168306#msg168306) FILE (https://docs.google.com/uc?export=download&confirm=no_antivirus&id=0BwC7kjtdF7wpZGhNTm5zbzVoRnM)
UMI.exe DLPB Unified Model Installer U002a Qhimm (http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=12522.msg173994#msg173994) FILE (https://docs.google.com/uc?id=0B1JH_wU1qqN4OGJYTjhkbWZJdFU&export=download)
To install Aali's driver, you must run FF7Config.exe as administrator and select Custom Driver.

Ok thanks, I'll try bootleg out. Most mods say to use the regular FF7 version and not ultima, is this any different?

I see in the readme that I should install FF7 in a different destination than normal. However, I remember when I get to the option of choosing, I only get to choose what to name the folder and it only goes to C:/ Program Files ect. Any way around this? Or is it ok to let it go there.

Even in the event you find a mod that happens to work with Ultima Edition, we will not provide any support for it here.
If you've got a genuine copy of the game, and a downloaded Ultima copy, why on earth would you choose Ultima anyway? It's massively broken.

Thanks for the help. I was able to get bootlegger working and I'm playing the remix version of FF7 PC. Pretty awesome so far. One problem though, when I add mods to the folder and run BFE...nothing changes. No costumes or custom portraits, nothing. Not even when I turn them on in BFE first, not even when I get the mods themselves and put them in folder and run BFE. Any suggestions?
