Title: Our chance to get FF games on Steam

Greenlight is going to allow people to vote on which games get into the Steam Store. Since FF7 PC is being re-released by Square already. Let's focus on FF8 and see if we can get a steam version of it!  :P

All they are doing is crowdsourcing the approval process. If companies aren't interested or don't submit games, they won't come to Steam. Square-Enix has enough push and Final Fantasy is a big enough property that they would absolutely get VALV^E's approval even without this new program, it's entirely up to Square-Enix.

This is mostly going to be useful for indie games, the sort that nobody's heard of and can't afford a marketing push. This way, if they wanna sell on Steam, instead of flat-out saying no, VALV^E can bring it to the community and see if they want it. This is essentially a way for them to more accurately gauge consumer interest and sales potential, so they can invest in properties that will see a higher return. It's all about the moneys and finances.

I was just suggesting we put it as a recommendation, I'm just confused that it's been proven that FF8 and 7 are sitting in Steam's registry but have yet to be released.

1. This isn't for recommendations. This is for developers to submit their stuff. Us regular folk will basically be saying "I want this" or "I don't want this".

2. If the games are already in Steam's registry, then VALV^E has already approved them, and this new system won't even come into play. The ball is entirely in Square-Enix's court.
