Alhexx is a mix of Alex (no, my real name isn't alex) and Hex (Hex-Editor ), so:
Alex + Hex = Alhexx
- Alhexx
The reason I chose "Haruhito" as the first name was because it was the first name of the Japanese character designer for "Macross" (Haruhito Mikimoto) It's because of that anime I speak Japanese today. Haruhito Mikimoto was often called "haru-kun" for short (-kun is a japanese term of endearment, kind of like -san is for honorable people) or simply "hal"
HAL is also the name of the computer in 2001. If you take the letters HAL and write out the next letter in sequence H becomes I, A becomes B, and L becomes M
HAL -> IBM
Which are the type of computers I program on.
The last name "Wada" was the last name of a dear Japanese friend when I lived in Japan from 1992-1996. Her name was Yukiko Wada. I had very strong feelings for her but was unable to communicte them very well because I didn't know enough Japanese at the time. This is another reason why I speek Japanese so well now. I use the Yukiko's name in the past tense because about a month ago she got married to an American serviceman in Japan. I beleave her last name is "Brown" now.
-halkun
"Wada Haruhito" in Japanese is this;
$B=U?MOBED(J
It's just an acronym.... no
Well I use that one for every board I go to. And I was pissed at the time when I first made it.
well my fathers name was Hiro and my mother's name was Sophie.. my name is Mikael.. and therfore tulkk... huh? you don't get it? hmm.. maybe you gotta have a japanese father and a french mother to understand.. ;p
heh, acctually.. There was this punk singer in sweden called Ulke (qhimm ya know who i'm talkig about) and my friends said that i looked like him.. so they changed it a bit et voilá.. tulkk...
ness - a suffix. also the main character of some game for the NES. And appeared in super smash brothers.
honestly, i just chose a name.
That is the alias i use when i want people to well be able to know who i am ( i went to high school in new orleans part time then moved to Illinois ) my friends that is so if they ever see Caddberry they will know me.. I use another one for well ::: Cough ::: other reasons
Skillster: cool...
All the others: interesting...
Joey: What the? FF Mp3 Album? What the heck r u talkin 'bout?
Alhexx( :)): I think I've got to tell u that Alex was the girl I had my first kiss with... :)

*Hands joey cd of mp3s*
Explosive Mp3s that is!
*Cd explodes in Joey hand*
Mhahahahaha!
NO more Joey for us. Now hes just Road scum!
The other teacher, however is not very fond of my reasoning (possably becase she knows I'm telling the truth and not saying that to be "cute") I was recently humbled by her when I made the remark that Japanese text input into a computer was a pain because there were three differnt text standards (Jis, EUC, and iso-2990-jp) I added that after the language reform in 1969 that trimmed the characters from over 50,000 to 1,945 there was no need for such extreame fontsets and Unicode should be fine.
The reply made me have a whole appriciation for Japanese sarcasm.
"Did you know", she said, "that 90% of all keyboards are manufactured in Asia? How would you like it if we started removing keys from it. I mean, after all 'c' and 's' make almost the same sound. Oh, so do 'n' and 'm' so we'll just combine those as well. 'i' and 'j' look so much the same, we'll just drop one."
"Did you know", she added, "That when epson made an 8-pin printer in the 1980s was so they could print hiragana and katakana in one pass? It had absolutly nothing to do with making better looking "A"s and "B"s.
"And as far as Unicode goes. DO you know when the committe came up with that 'standard' they invited everyone execpt for China, Korea, and Japan? How would you feel of you had a bunch of countries trying to tell you how to code your own language."
oops, noever brough that up again
Joey: Why don't you take your own time to look around on Napster, Google and other sites like http://www.mp3delivery.com instead of just sitting around waiting for one of us to give them to you.
BTW: I hadn't had a chance to update Ultima (update with your decode of the .a fiels) 'till now

As for the original question: my name is... mmm.... my real name. Yes, very original, inventive and other stuff.

Oh, and something to Final Fantasy MP3s.:
I live in Germany and so u can't buy or get those official Soundtracks everywhere! :-( I would instantly buy them if I could! FF7,8,9, the music is great! I downloaded some tracks from the FF8 ost:
http://www.plasticman.org/gamingmusic/ff8.shtml
If I had had DSL or Cable it would have gone MUCH faster ... Even only one MP3 takes so long to download that u can't download all with a 56k modem. But the Soundtracks are really good! Only some have cracks (in the music, I mean)
2. I've got a 56K Modem, too, so I understand your problems...
3. Hey, cool, Ich bin auch aus Deutschland!
to all: Keep' on postin' :)

Anyway, next week I got my first modem I chose Ficedula as my ISP login name, and I've just used it from there on...
What does it mean? I'll let you look it up if you want to know...
ficedula -ae, f. a small bird, the becafico.
Right?
- Alhexx
Took quite a long time but it was really a shared out task with my friends. You can go ahead and ask Joey but in my country you can't get the soundtracks either that's why I ended up d/l all of it. The list is still far from complete.
Honestly Joey sending you all those MP3's is really gonna cost me you know. It won't even fit into 2 700MB CD-R's. Where exactly do you live Joey? Maybe you could get them from my house? Wait, that might not be such a good idea... Just tell me where you live first then I'll figure something out.
As for my username?
Hmm..
You're gonna have to go a bit into my lifestory for that. I'd rather not talk about it but since you guys ask, here goes.
You guys know what a 'monitor' of a class is?
I'm not sure if this term is used outside of my country but that's what we use in my country.
Anyway, I have a horrible record of being a class monitor for a freakin 5 years in a row in secondary school.
It was like some sort of curse my classmates put on me.
The reason?
Well, it's got something to do with my real-life character (not gonna tell you what) and secondly cause the school teachers had a real attachment to my name.
For those of you that don't know, my real name is Lau Zhen-Jock which for some reason seems to be a name that most people have difficulty pronouncing and thus forgetting.
Ok, after all that "history", my classmates decided to call me The Saint so later on when i first had to think of a nick to use, I thought I might as well use it. As for the capital 'N', I really don't know why I used it. You might find me using the same nick elsewhere. I only go by The SaiNt or zhenjock (EIDOS boards and some other places).
There, I think I'm starting to sound like halkun with his infernal super long replies with lots of irrelevant stuff. :)
BTW, since we're on the topic of names, I might as well add to the question, what is your real name?
BTW: Does anybody know how Qhimm came to his name?
- Alhexx
- Alhexx
BTW, I remember searching through google for ficedula when I forgot fice's web address. Turns out that there were many other "ficedula"'s
Real Name: Travis Miller
The name i wish i had: Vladimir Tepisch
Sorry but that name just kikz ass
oh, for the newbies...wanna to see who the ff8 people were in real life (big load here)
Don't worry, I don't have one either, but that might not be comforting.
Hmm, I think I've got one question that perhaps only Qhimm can answer: How's Qhimm pronounced - like 'Kim' or like 'queue him' ?
- Alhexx
If you want it, I guess you're gonna have to make some effort looking for it unless someone wants to tell him...
Skillster: I haven't replied your mail yet since I can't find a decent ad on the sales of the parts in my country yet. Besides, my exam is next week so I don't have time to go down to the shop and get a price list. Maybe later, ok?
- Alhexx

SaiNt and others: I know I'm gettin' a bit off topic, but I (!) started this topic after all ...Alright, I've got one question:
What is this UIN beneath the 'Edit Message' and 'Send Email' Options???
[This message has been edited by Alhexx (edited June 19, 2001).]
Don't worry, getting off topic is very common on this board.

I don't get what you're talking about.
Care to explain in detail?
If you're talking about UIN, it's the indicator to see whether the user is online or not. It's gets the information from the ICQ server.
- Alhexx
And I'm pronouncing Qhimm like "Kuim"
Alhexx:
Actually... I don't know. But you could always use real ICQ.
[edited] 32 2001-11-17 23:01
Qhimm: Well, I think I've got my answer...I think we don't need to discuss it any more...(But I think you didn't make a mistake, your name's cool :))
- Alhexx
If you go to GameFAQs and post there, you might have seen me posting under AbsoluteId,MGSFan,LoZFan,Chronic2001,or my new name Sapphire.
AbsoluteId-I dunno,a friend gave it to me.
MGSFan/LoZFan-My original names at GFAQs.MGS stands for Metal Gear Solid which is arguably the best game ever.MGS+Fan just means that I'm a fan of MGS.LoZ stands for Legend of Zelda, and the Zelda Social Board is where I go mostly. It just means I'm a fan of the Zelda series.Sadly, these two names were banned because CJayC thought I was a different guy.
Chronic2001-One of my fav CD's.'Nuff said.
Sapphire-A character I created for a book I'm writing.Partner to another hero of mine,Gemini. But when I tried to register as that name,it was already taken. So I used Sapphire instead. That's about it.
