Hello.
First post here. *drumroll* :)
Im a 3d graphician in love with final fantasy.
Maybe you could find som use for me in the ff7 remake?

First of all welcome.
2nd of all, you might want to make an HTML file of some kind so we don't have to dig through everything in your folder. (Kind of boring & we don't know what we're looking at/for.)
3rd of all, what program are you using? I'm half convinced it's Lightwave, but it also looks like Maya...

Edit: Oi, can you do an FMV with FF7 characters? Like a battle scene or something? I would love to see something like that. If I had the ability, I would do it.

What is the main goal for making the remake?
From what i have figured it is meanth to be a new story?
I havnt really grasped the idea... (possibly since the site has been down)
The old ff7 was released a rather long time ago... I think, for example, about the number of polygons and the excessive use of gouraudshading(spelling?), that todays computers can handle so much more... We could make the whole experience a whole lot more enjoyable at this time.
Maybe we could spice up the main characters and bosses a bit?
I think I would find this a very entertaining task :)
Im just ventilating some thoughts i got by watching some screenshots.
As for FMV's I'd say that there is an enormous amount of work put behind the smallest inbetween shot... therefore, to keep the overall quality of a nonpaying and nonprofit(right?) project like this, leave them out. Or possibly, group a larger team with good and willing nonprofit animators (hard).

I think you're looking at this wrong.
Yes, it's non-profit, but think about it: You could put this work on your Demo Reel. And what if we create a wonderful FMV or two? That would definatly look good on a demo reel.
Besides, the FMVs are as much a part of FF7 as the polygonsih characters.
For size reasons, we're sticking to the old characters, & creating only a few new ones. Don't think we're going to add 500 new characters either. We're looking at this from two angles: How can we make it look the best we can, & How can we keep the download small?
To that end, we've decided to reuse as much of the original game as possible. That means we have to make our new stuff easily integrate with the old stuff.

Okey, its always nice to have a demoreel but i already got a 3d-job i'm quite satisfied with... :)
Seph, you cant keep the filesizes down if you gonna have FMV's...
Not so much that it matters if there is a few lowpoly characters in there anyway...
Since my last post ive been looking around a bit in the poly-mess of ff7... actully there are some really nice semi-highpoly models of at least cloud... Texturing those and putting them on the worldmap and so on would be rather nice...

as for cutscenes..... the answer is simple: have two versions. one version with, one version without.

OK - just as a note my website is starting to come back up - I've moved the site onto a temporary server. Not everything is accessible yet, but the main areas should be OK.
http://ficedula.cjb.net/ for my main website; I suspect Alhexx's redirector won't work for the Remake site, so that's accessible on http://ficedula.cjb.net/ffr/
Downloads ARE up, but only the most recent versions in almost all cases (ie. no archives). Remake members; the private parts of the site are down until I get passwording working on the new server.
FFSF isn't up, I don't have enough space on the server.
Hopefully, of course, my home server will be back up soon. No bets on that, though...
