I didn't post this under a mod forum because I'm not sure which mod if at all is affecting this but I have bootleg installed and am using a lot of mods. Runs great, love the graphics and music but... I've encountered Yuffie in the Junon Area twice now and had to shut off the game. There's no freezing, no crash, game works fine... except for the fact that yuffie's weapon kinda vibrates/shifts around and she won't take her turn. My characters are waiting indefinately while the animations and music still continue... like Yuffie's supposed to take her turn to attack but instead of an attack, she does an eternal-stare move that forces you to lose by shutting your game off. I could just skip her but I wanted Yuffie in my party =(
Tried searching for this but all I find are Yuffie crash issues from the past.
-
Update: Happened again, it seems to do that after my first attack? I had Red XIII use Sled Fang and the camera stayed stuck further away while the battle just continued on indefinately with the characters kind of doing their normal battle "stand-by" animations.

Did you install Grimmy's Yuffie model?
Post the contents of the lastused.bp file.
-
I had exact same problem. Made clean re-install without Grimmy's Yuffie model and everything seems to be working now just fine.
-
Yes I did. And I'm assuming this is the right contents/file you were asking for:

So re-install without that model eh?

I' having the same problem here... is there a way to fix this without reinstalling the game and lose all my saves? (I'm hardcore, yeah, but losing 20 hours of gameplay for one npc...no, no, thank you)
BtW I'm kind of a newbye, so please be patient and speak easy to me! ^^

Well, it's kinda hard.
I run the game until that point with WhiteRaven's model. With this model the fight against Yuffie works just fine.
After the fight I simply "over-install" (don't even know, if this word exists... "DrĂ¼berinstallieren" in german) Bootleg again with Grimmy's model.
It works this way.
Another solution might be: Simply use a Savegameditor like black chocobo to add Yuffie to your party.
-
So, what you're saying is that there is a way to "overinstall" a mod over another one without having to reinstall everything and it works?
Do I simply have to re-run Bootleg just changing that model via BFE?
I'm interested and listening to you carefully, now

If you only want to change a model, use the direct mode off Ali's driver. It works like it's described in the ff7opengl.cfg.
At the moment I'm using many models this way without any harm to the game, but maybe I play not long enough.
-
I have the same issue.
My workaround was to use Black Chocobo save editor and put her in my party. Its better than re-installing. You only get to miss out on the dialogue i guess.
EDIT: Damn, 'pparently someone already mentioned this....and its over a month old...sorry not a very good start on the forum huh?
-
Hello, i'm having the same problem and i'm considering using a save editor as mentionned,
i just have a question , does it just skip the dialogue in the forest or can it make the whole wutai quest fail/break?
thanks for any answer

Just replace the files in the lgp with whiteraven model... 2 mins and problem solved.
-
can you tell me what program can i use to open a lgp file? (i'm guessing the yuffie model is somewhere Inside "char.lgp" but dunno exactly how to proceed nor where is the whiteraven model ^^')

Hi! Thanks for posting this, but I think I may have done something wrong. I followed the instructions and now my game crashes every time I go into battle. Is there a way I can fix this?
Here's the APP log:
