i've been watching videos on youtube, and all of them seem to have a high res background mod but nobody seems to wanna share any names of said mods.
i downloaded the avalanche high res mos.exe but iam not sure if its for backgrounds cause i still got the PS1 pixelated background. if that aint the right mod anyone can name or link me one? or if that is the right mod how to install cause i musta did it wrong.

Probably the easiest method is through the use of Bootleg
Check out the Tifa's Tutorial page (http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=13212.0) for instructions on how to use it, and go through the mod list once you've got the Bootleg program to find the high res backgrounds. (This page, under Field Textures) (http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=13981.0)
Bootleg will do all the legwork for you from then onwards.

yea that didnt work, all my mods show up as red even the mods that are already working correctly.
just spent an hour trying to get my mods to not showup as red on the bootleg and its not happening, which makes no since i know i have these mods since they work when i boot the game up

You have to put them in the right folder for bootleg to see them and you must install them through bootleg not manually. I recommend a fresh install. You will retain all saves.

Mods that you have already manually installed won't ever show up on the Bootleg Mod List. What it does is check a list based upon what options you choose in the Bootleg Front End (BFE.exe). You need to uninstall and delete your FF7 installation folder completely, then start with the Bootleg Tutorial linked by mystery_editor. It has both written and video of the step-by-step process from the start of buying the game, to its installation, to its modding process, and finally it's post-modding configurations.
Feel free to ask any questions along the way. Good luck :)

like i said i followed the tifa guide, and still nothing but problems, i dont see any video guides anywhere.
the BFE doesnt know what it wants to do, sometimes when i run it the aeris patch shows up as yellow, but i can close it and reopen it and it'll show up as red, or yellow its random. i also got the avalanche GUI and high res installed to c\games\FF7mods and it always shows up as red

I added a video link at the very top of my guide. Go check it out.
I would recommend starting over with a fresh install of the game, no mods attached prior to running Bootleg, then beginning my guide at Step 1. If not, then there is serious potential for glitches, crashes, and broken gameplay to occur.

you installing AVALANCHE GUI and HIGH RES to c\games\FF7mods and BFE still show up RED color? Of course! You didn't need to install it to anywhere, BFE will install it for you after you complete download all necessary file in red color and hit "Run Bootleg", just put file Avalanche GUI v2.0.8.exe and Avalanche High Res.exe to your BFE folder (in this case, you put BFE in c\games\FF7mods). Open BFE and you will see Avalanche High Res.exe in green color. The same way for other mod...

As I already stated . . . Don't install anything just put the downloads in the folder and run the front end.
