That's a modded GBA game only so far as to give Firion high-level stats at the beginning. If the battle is won the game is over (I guess).

I would assume that there's code for that battle to "on defeat: start game" or some such thing. Winning takes you back to where you started. Since the game didn't officially start it kicks you out to the main menu.

In the NES version it continues as if you lost. I would assume the PS version is the same as the NES, and the PSP is the same as the GBA.
