Title: Installed FF8, immediate menu control issue

Hello everyone!

Installed and started FF8 with only the official patch to confirm it worked and upon arriving at the main menu, it seems to think that a directional button is being pressed (down in my case, pressing up stops the cursor).

FF8 config is set to use the keyboard, and, though an Xbox360 controller is installed, no controller is plugged in.

Does anyone have suggestions for correcting this issue?

This is an older thread, but I just solved the same issue with FF7. I just had to disable my HID-compliant game controller in device manager for it to work. If that's not listed, disable your 360 controller driver.
