Title: Gamepad issues ff7
Post by: Xenoth09 on 2013-06-20 23:36:45
So, i've done everything ive seen suggested for everyone.

Im using re release modded through bootleg. usb ps2. i have the drivers for it it works with every other game (to many games to name)
windows 7 64 bit.
ive tried joymapping programs xpadder and that free one, both work outside of the game i can see it emulating the keystrokes.

But whenever i get in ff7 the joypad wont do anything, the emulated strokes dont work, i cant change the controls under the menu, if i try to change the joypad keys it just stops and i have to exit the game.

Ive also tried using a ps3 controller, that also works with every other game, i have all the correct drivers but has no response from ff7.

ive tried windowed and full screen always run as administrator.

if you need any more info ask and ill throw it.

anny help, any at all is appricaited.

Can you open up you BFE.exe and copy here the Brat Code. You'll find it under the Installation tab.

Did you try simply pressing the controller and only the controller when starting the game? If the keyboard is pressed first it cancels out the controller.

Have you checked the device manager again?
Have you started dxdiag?

I have the same problem except I can change the joypad keys. I have also tried running it without xpadder and with the PS3 controller in Xbox mode, but I would like to use the D-pad and it's not acknowledging that one exists. This is my brat code:

It doesn't detect any d-pads on any controller. Use the actual game settings to configure your controller you just can't use the d-pad.
