Title: Updating mod files?
Post by: Phrosen on 2013-07-23 19:03:37
Hi.

I believe I am using a few outdated mod files, and I'm wondering if it is possible to update them - and how to do it?

For example: I'm using a modded skin for Barret. When Barret attacks he runs up to the enemy (as if using a melee weapon) stops and shoots his gun.
I saw a thread somewhere with someone reporting this as a bug, and someone else replied that they would update the model to work properly. -I am assuming that I got the outdated mod files.

I was lazy so I downloaded a torrent with a whole lot of mod files (about 17Gb).

I also noticed that some of my mod files are Yellow in BFE. -I am not sure why, what it means or what to do about it?

If the mods are yellow, there's nothing to worry about. It's only if they're red that you need to worry about. Tifa's Torrent (most likely the one you downloaded) has all the mods needed for Bootleg .040 (latest version). As for the Barret model, I can't say for sure, but I haven't seen a new version.

As for updating mods, Bootleg may not work with updated ones, unless the structure is exactly the same. If you know how to do it, you should update them after Bootleg finished.

Omzy's Field Pack is the only exception I can think of atm, I think there may be more.

Omzy's is updated for Bootleg040, if that's what you're referring. The 4 fixes are installed on top of the old FacePalmer.zip, which updates it to the current final release.
