Title: Install .iro mods to steam version?
Post by: Zerox on 2014-02-04 03:12:16
Hey I got the steam version of FF7 and mods such as apz Cloud and others work just fine by inserting them into the .lgp archives. But how can I apply the .iro mods? Is there any way I can apply them to my lgp files?

Every mod, which needs the mod folder, will not work with Steam.

This will not work for menus and backgrounds. You can enhance everything, which is used by a 3D mesh, like the character models and the battle stages.

I'm not positive, it could be done, but it's a massive buttload of textures. There's maybe thousands just for the field backgrounds alone. I'd just convert your game to the 98 version. The only things you lose are achievements (which are pointless) and cloud saves which are nice, but you can always back up your game saves yourself.

You can edit them, but you wont be able to use them in game with ordinary reconvert and replacing.

This post has details on how to edit the original backgrounds through Photoshop: http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=11933.0

There is a script used for PS 5.1 that allows for batch editing. It's a rather quick process when you get the script to work, however I have not been able to figure out how to batch export the edited images back into game format using Palmer Frontend. I was only able to export each edit individually, which would take forever with the 7000+ textures, so I've put it on hold. One day I want to pick it up and try again.

Used the steam converter still got the same problem game runs with all FMV`s on black screen only difference is now I can hear the sound.
No issues running steam version before convert.
Aalis custom driver says broken in config?
Error I get when running the converter is
Insert Multi.DLL, Hext.DLL, language file...... The system cannot find the path specified
