Title: Shoot and Shout Element in FFVII

The shoot and shout element, how can I protect myself against it?  The wikis says I can protect myself from them with elemental + non-elemental materia. 
Is it possible and what are some non-elemental materia I can use?

That trick only works against the "Hidden" element which is only present on perhaps four actions in the entire game. The only guard against the other unnamed elements is Zeidrich which halves them all. That's kinda how it gets through the "halves physical damage" description.

In mods it depends on what element the mod maker gives the different materia. In the vanilla game, no materia has any physical element.
