Title: FF7 final fight music problems
Post by: Null on 2002-08-19 20:01:08
Anyway: I am playing Final Fantasy 7 on a Windows XP PC. I have made my way to the end of the game and have been unable to hear the Sephiroth chorus. Instead I get some sort of instrumental version of the thing.
Needless to say this is far less impressive a finale to an excellent game.

Is there a patch that fixes this?

Thank you!

The chorus are only available if you use the soundfont MIDIs (not Yamaha XG or General MIDI). If you are and it still doesn't work, check that you have allocated enough soundfont memory.

Needless to say, you'll need a Soundfont-capable sound card to use Soundfont MIDI.

And, in Windows XP, if you hit "Test" on Soundfont MIDI, it'll say "Test failed."  Just set it to Soundfont and press OK and run the game.

[Edit] Oh, check it out, 800th post.
