Apologies in advance if this is in the wrong section or if I'm a flat out moron for not finding the solution to this seemingly simple issue.
Long story short, I ran Bootleg to install my current desired settings, which included the "FFX Battle Menu Theme". After installing Menu Overhaul, however, the FFX battle menu simply isn't present, and I've been having some minor graphical issues regarding text spacing.
This is what my game text looks like in field, with the text spacing:

Then there's the issue of the battle menu.

FFX Battle Menu is for the battle menu, so the fact that your field text is not showing the MO text either says that MO didn't install, for whatever reason. Check over your Bootleg log file to see what happened.

Usually happens when trying to install different versions of MO on top of one another. Or different installs on top of one another. Can also happen when parts fail to install.
Either way, you need to install to files that haven't had any changes to menu code and so on.
