Title: The Tonberry
Post by: Curt-Kineas on 2015-09-06 14:22:44
Hello!

I wanted to post the whole scene instead of just the monster alone, but it will take more time to finish the whole scene. (From FF VIII). So I decided to show you what I've done!

Hope you'll like it.

Some informations:
79,782 triangles
Tonberry texture = 2k
Knife and lantern texture = 1k

I don't know if you could switch my tomberry with the original in FF8, anyway that's what I'm thinking when I think about a FF8 remake! SQUARE please hire me XD

No way with 79K triangles and multi-material textures. :D

This tonberry looks cool. :)

Wow, pretty cool. I love the mirror effect on the knife :D Could you post more points of view?

The lantern/candle seems a bit wide to me. Making that small a candle makes the tonberry seem a little too large. Make the candle thicker and the flame larger and I think it'll make the tonberry look smaller.

Thanks for your replies!

- Indeed, even with less triangles, it's too hard to switch the models (Because of UV mapping/Bones rig) etc.
- I'm working on a FF8 scene where you use to see Tonberries... (So you'll see other points of view)
- It's easy to make the lantern smaller (With Blender just need to select the object and do CTRL+S to scale down (or up) the object). I used different references and I like the way it is... If a lot of people tell me the same I might change it ;-)

I don't know how tall is a Tonberry, mine is 71 cm (2.33 feet)
He's rigged (I can animate him).

I think I'll keep on doing monsters!
