Title: FF8 Crashes every time Grendel uses 'Breath' (Steam)

Hi, I'm hoping someone can help me with this problem.

As it says in the title, the game crashes every time Grendel uses Breath.

Any ideas what might be going on?

Yes. I'm trying to pinpoint which one before resorting to uninstalling them.

IIRC I have the following:

Colly's Hardcore Battle patch
Project Eden
Text/Menu overhaul (McIndus)

As far as I know that's it.

When does it actually crash? Mid animation? It hangs or crashes to desktop?

There's a Grendel battle just prior where it doesn't use Breath which goes fine.

Its always just before damage is dealt to the party by the attack.

Can you share that save file?
Are you using just those mods? Not the sound mod or other hext?

Thought I missed one. I'm using the Roses and Wine Sound Mod.

I should add - Steam overlay is disabled, using Tonberry ver 1.5.

Think I know what your problem is. You're still using Tonberry 1.5. The newest version (2.04) should fix that problem. At least, it did for me. I had the same issue as you.

Okay. Let me know. Also take note that some things are set up differently with v2.04 compared to v1.5. But the front page should tell you everything you need to know. :)

Also make sure you also use the latest version of roses and wine.
You can give a shot to the other graphical mods. Tripod, hellfire, rebirth flame and lunar cry. It's a whole new ff8.

Just to say, updating Tonberry solved the issue.
