It seems that when I physically change a track it doesn't want to loop, despite having a LOOPSTART tag. Is there some restriction that I'm missing? It's the battle theme, specifically, and I know the original loops properly, as do the other tracks included in the Music & Sound package, so far as I can tell.
[edit: gave wrong tag]

You need a loopstart tag.

You need a loopstart tag.
He already stated in his initial post he does have a loopstart tag

Is this a track you made yourself? Try running the file through MediaInfo (https://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo) and pasting the results from "text" view here. I might be able to get a better idea what's going on.

The original post said he only had a LOOPLENGTH tag.
Try giving it a LOOPSTART and a LOOPEND tag. Sometimes players don't like when only one is there.

None of the others I've noticed have anything except a LOOPSTART tag (and other tags that the game entirely ignores, with no consistency), with the file truncated at the end to loop seamlessly. I know FF7Music used a LOOPLENGTH tag since I had to tag a few OGG files for it, but that doesn't seem to be the case here.

Is loopstart lowercase like that in your metadata, or is MediaInfo just reporting it wrong? I'm not positive, but I think it needs to be all caps to work correctly.
If that doesn't fix it, PM me the track and I'll be glad to look into it in a few days (I should have time on Saturday or Sunday).
