Hey,
Does anybody experience the same problem: The game crashed when Cid and the crew were about to escape the rocket by the escape pods, it was supposed to show the FMV sequence of the escape pods but instead a black blank screen(no error messages) and did not react to any keyboard controls. All my hardware components are compatible to FF7 since I've already been playing for 40 hours. I've looked all over BBS and Eidos support but it didn't help. I've also reinstalled Win98 and FF7 for the nth time. PLEASE HELP ME. I DESPERATELY want to finish this game. :weep:

I would say its a scratched cd .... you could give your savegame to somebody to play it beyond that animation, and send it to you back.
You can send it to me too :) my mail is on the mail icon below this post.

I would try running the movie in mediaplayer to see if it plays....some of the avi's in the game use different codecs. biglight.avi is the most common that causes a hang, because it seems to use a different video codec then the other movies.

WTF? So, after saying that it uses the Truemotion codec for video, it jumps off the deep end and confuses the system by calling a totally different codec?
Geez.....I know square isn't exactly the sharpest tool in the shed for doing PC ports, but this brings 'em to a new low.

I played the FMV sequences of the escape pods and it worked fine. But I still get stuck at that area. If anybody has the spare time can you please play this part over for me. You just have to go to Rocket Town, beat the Turks and get the Huge Materia(sorry I forgot the combo for this). If you can help I'll send my saved game to your email and then you can send it back to me. Thanx a mill.

Ok, ill try to play it. I'll send it back to you ... probably on sunday.
