Title: Can't launch FF7 through 7th Heaven?
Post by: Draaxus on 2016-11-02 11:13:41
Please help, when I launch FF7 it works perfectly except the mods aren't applied so I tried launching it via 7th heaven but when I do, it says "Please insert FF7 game disc 1,2, or 3 and try again". I've tried to mount the FF7DISC1 before launching but it still doesn't work?

I've tried changing the data drive in the regedit to H since the FF7DISC1 is H but when I try to launch the game via 7th Heaven, all that happens is black screen, then back to desktop, no error message or anything.

Edit: Now the mod names are f***ed up http://i.imgur.com/a7MqZVt.png

Did you run the converter?
if so press Win + R to search and type regedit.
Navigate to HKEY_LOCALMACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432NODE\SQUARESOFT
After that click Final Fantasy VII and change the data drive to whatever drive your ISO is in

I've done all of that. When I changed the data drive to the ISO, clicking launch game opens a black screen, then back to 7th heaven, no error message or anything, when I alt-tabbed while it was a black screen, the black screen was called DEFAULT, I think it's because my profile is called Default

Aha thats a sound issue! Sound dumb i know but ...
Open ff7 config and change the sound device to 1 that works. Then run the converter again

Do not double post the same issue in another forum. I deleted the other one in the 7H section.

But the sound is fine, I used the test thingies in ff7 config and there are sounds

Edit: I just realized, it may be because I didn't set the .exe to ff7_bc, going to test this later

Side note to this...don't open FF7Config from the game folder. You need to run the GC again and choose the Overwrite option. That will open the proper FF7Config to set the registry keys correctly.

No need, since my sound is perfectly fine, (tested it in the ff7 config) right now, I think it's because I have beacause and I didn't set the .exe to ff7_bc.exe

I tried disabling Beacause and setting the .exe to ff7_mo.exe and now, it's still black screen, but instead of doing nothing and just closing and going back to 7th Heaven, it says "ff7_mo.exe has stopped working"
