This, however, is only in most instances, not all.
It does, however, do an insanely-good job with FF7.
Apparently, the WDM device is classed as a "software synth" by Winamp 2, but I know it's wrong. It does, however, have it's DLS file readily available in my system folder (Thus Winamp seeing it as a software synth - it uses DLS in a way much like those do).
So, how can I contact you guys so my DLS can be assimilated? (btw, I think it's near-PERFECT for FF7...the only problem it suffers from seems to be a few FF7 instruments missing...but only the SXG driver [not regular XG] seems to be able to fix that...)
-
Well, first of all, how big is this DLS file?
If its relatively small enough and you have a fast enough internet connection to upload it in a convienent time for you, might wanna give Mirex's upload page a shot, since he's made it pretty much available to everyone here.
-
it's about 6 megs (don't be fooled), and I have an 888kbps connection (I know it's faster, I just haven't found the server to tax it yet)
-
...and I have an 888kbps connection.....
If that's your upstream speed, then we all just got 0wned.... :P
-
Hehehe. I'm directly connected to the local trunk line (sp?).
....The clearest cable and sound from it, and the fastest internet. MUAHAHA.
-
.....Soooooo, that IS your upstream transfer rate?!
-
at max, yeah. Downstream is another matter, I can't push it much past 3 megs, since all the benchmark sites don't seem to run all that fast. Anyway, server?
-
I forget the URL, but mirex has opened a server up for everyone here to upload stuff to if they wish. You might wanna PM him for it, or search back thru the forums, since he's posted it around here a few times.
-
Drat, it's too big.

There's more than one way to skin a cat, (or so they say), so don't give up. I have an idea. Yes, yes, Phear me. LOL.
Anyway, do you have WinRAR? It should have the ability to split an archive up into multiple files (and WinRAR gives them specific file extensions that indicate what file is what piece of it); when you have all of them and you tell the first one to extract, it will (or should :P) piece it back together correctly.
Do you see where I'm going with this? You use WinRAR to break it up into chunks small enough for the page to accept, then upload all of them, and then whoever downloads it that has WinRAR should be able to reconstruct it.
By the way, I think most people here use that program, so it shouldn't be too much of a problem...

You can always e-mail me the entire file ([email removed]) and I'll put it up for you.
-
Well, I gave it to Aaron, and it's on Mirex's page for safe keeping too. Now tear it to shreds guys

Here it is. (http://www.vanguard.org/students/wpd2/kelleyaaron/!!stuff/TBIRDHD.zip)

LOL....Downloading at 88kbps right now....thanks. :D
Edit:I just opened it up in Awave Studio.....and it says there's "0 waveforms and 0 instruments" contained in the file. Also, Winamp is refusing to load the DLS file......something's wacked here.... -_- :erm:

Grr, I think it's encrpyted or something. I just tried the same in winamp and the FF8 Configurator...
There's a file next to it in my system folded with the extension .pch, and it's got a whole bunch of whacko hex values in it all arranged nice and neatly. Does that mean anything?
