To cut a long story short, I have final fantasy 7 for the pc, and in a drunken stupor managed to bust my last game disk. Being on dailup i have searched high and low on ftp and p2p utils to find an iso for the last disk, only to turn up nothing. If anyone out there has it, could they maybe arrange to talk with me on msn messenger at [email protected] . Any help on the issue would be greatly appreciated, and if you do need proof that i have the game, (to prove that i am not doing anything illegal) i will be more than happy to give a display of it through my webcam. Best regards, Noel McIlmoyle.

eidos will replace it for you.

...you may have to give them some cash, though. 15 dollars!

But being no one sells the game anymore.....
I guess you can try to get hold of one of the PR guys. I haven't seen any post by Redlegg in a long time, at least in the Final Fantasy 7 section, But he may be of help....if you can grab his attention. I suggest to post in the thread that he was last active in....and of course, make a post in FF7's forum, with the header "Attention Redlegg" or something. Who knows maybe he will respond to a private message.
It may, very well be, that they (Eidos), can't give you a replacement disk, if no one is selling it, then no one is producing it.....Redlegg would know the answer to the question, though.

I looked into the eidos bit, I need the original, sadly is long gone, due to the damage i binned it, hoping i would evenually get a replacement, but to no avail. Looks like i may end my search unless there is anyone that can provide a better suggestion...

My contact information is on my profile. Get with me, and I'll get you a copy. If you have a cable or better internet connection :D

He says he has dialup.

FF7 is rather non-copy-protected. Once, I took all the files, copied them to my hard drive, and just dumped them onto a CD again (making sure to name the CD correctly) and FF7 ran with no problems.
If you have a CD burner, you can download the files one by one and then dump them on a CD. I can let you do this off of my FTP, but your download will be limited to when my computer is on and to 3k/sec.
PM me if you want to do this.

I know we've had this discussion before but, does the CD-Doctor work?
I mean, I have tons of games and music cds that are scratched or stained or with mean stuff that doesn't come off. My FF7 for PC cds are very damaged (scratches and stains only), fortunately they are not cracked. So I know a friend that has that CD-Doctor thing, but I'm kind of skeptical about it.

In my experience, it works fine as long as there is no scratch that is all the way through the disc.

My CD Doctor has been great .. I would highly recommend giving it a go..

Dish soaps, such as "Dawn", are good for cleaning, too. Every time one of my rage against the machine cd's are skipping, I Dawn them. Works every time.

Thanks for all the help guys, but i got lucky on ebay, I have bought a mint condition originally packaged US version of the game, should be getting it in the next week....
BTW I reccomend VirtualCD v4, Is good for backing up your cds and running them from the hard drive, you just need a bucketload of space.

I use Daemon Tools myself...
