Title: Question about FF9 saving on PS2
Post by: Threesixty on 2003-01-21 04:25:56
Is it just me, or does FF9 not want to save on a PS2?

Is there a work around for this?

or do I have a bad memory chip....FF10 saves fine on it.

Oh okay, thanks.

I kinda figured it would be something like that, but I wasn't certain. I didn't know that a PS1 memory would fit in a PS2.

I just got the PS2 today, got FFX, 2 days ago. Had FF9 for a while. Used to played it with epsxe. Now it looks like I have to spend a few more dollars, to save PS1 games. <sigh>.

BTW: I thought a regular playstation cost 50 dollars

I think you can save some PS2 games on a PS1 memory card.  Just, the PS1 cards hold a lot less.

Dunno for sure, I don't have a PS2.

no PS2 games on a PS1 card, both the game and the system browser won't let you
you can, however, copy a PS1 save to a PS2 card and store it there as a backup, the PS1 game won't read the data but you can copy it back to your PS1 card at any time. Quite handy since PS1 saves are 8K a block and the PS2 mem card is a cool 8 MB
LOTS of PS1 backup space ^_^

Trust me, an ePSXe plays PSX games better than the PS2 does.
