Title: Full Screen Issues
Post by: BlueWolf on 2019-03-01 03:36:04
So after much time and effort I finally have everything working except true full screen for FF7. I have a laptop connected via HDMI to my 55" 4k TV. When I launch FF7 the game screen is entirely to large and only partially on screen. I found out how to fix this by going to Display setting for my computer and changing the scale to 100% instead of the recommended default of 300% when doing so the game is on screen fully but I've got black bars on the sides so it isn't truly "Full-screen". So I have 2 issues here. 1) How do I attain true Full-screen with modded FF7 and 2) How can I save this so that I do not have to adjust my scale/layout every time I want to play the game if possible? ANY help on these two items would be tremendously appreciated.

It's interesting that you have to configure your Windows DPI scaling settings like that, but in any case, it will never be completely 'full screen' unless you're okay with stretching that will make everything look 'fat'.  I'm sorry I don't have a solution for your scaling issue.  : (

Seems you have two issues going here...
1 - The high DPI issues a lot of other folks have been posting about lately (and, indeed, I see you also posted in one of those)
2 - 55" televisions are 16:9, while FF7 was written in the days of 4:3.

It seems you solved #1 already.  Solving #2 should just require changing the aspect ratio option from "Preserve to fit" to "Stretch to fill" in your Aali driver settings.  You're probably aware that doing so will make everyone look a little... tubby... (not that Wedge wasn't tubby already, but I like my Tifa svelte ;) )

Yes I am aware that getting it to 16:9 will cause a bit of wierdness in the way it looks. I very much appreciate the responses. I will look into the Aali setting and give that a go. Thank you so much.

This may sound stupid but again I am pretty new to this still. How and where do I access the Aali driver settings to stretch the screen?
