Make sure you only have 1 find.exe and that it is located in your windows/system32 folder
-
where i can find this find.exe ? or it is a default Windows .exe
-
Search "find.exe" on your PC and make sure there is only one, and that it is the one in your Windows/system32 folder. If there is another in a different location, rename or delete it while you run the GC.

got a few but cant Delete the unneeded one.

I assume you can't rename the unneeded one either. That is likely the issue is that the GC is using the wrong "find.exe" as a different one has been set to default by your system when it was installed by another program. You'd have to figure out which program and uninstall it if you can't just rename the file, and if it's worth uninstalling the program to run some mods on FFVII... That's about all I can tell you. Are you a system administrator? I don't think that is the issue since you didn't get an admin prompt, but a "Access denied" prompt.

soooo no FF7 Modding for me igues X.x
i am the Admin / Only Account on this PC .

could i Patch the game in a Virtual machine? and just Copy the Files over?

Technically, but you'd have to make all the registry entries for the game manually. And I don't know what they are off the top of my head.

-.- i hate windows

If all you care about are cleaned up graphics and a fun time, playing within a VM is certainly realistic (I've been playing within Virtualbox for ages)
-
maybe ill give it a try, at least. thx

To confirm the problem: From command-line, try the command "where find.exe", and it will tell you which find.exe Windows will use. For me, the output is "C:\Windows\System32\find.exe", but for you, I'm guessing it's the other one.
To understand the root cause: Windows uses a System Environment variable called PATH to control the order of folders in which it looks for executables.
To fix the issue: I bet you could modify the PATH and just rearrange the order of the folders in your PATH. If you move C:\Windows\System32 before whatever other folder has the other find.exe, Windows should then use the right find.exe. (Not sure if that would "break" what that other program is, though.)
-
BTW, to edit the PATH, hit Window key, type "envir", select "Edit the system environment variables", click "Environment Variables..." button at the bottom, look at the System vars section (bottom half), then double-click Path (or single-click Path and click "Edit").
It should pop up a window with all the folders in the Path, each in a separate row. Select the row that says "%SystemRoot%\system32", then keep selecting the "Move Up" button until it's above the other folder.

thx , i will try this, sounds promising
Yes. Thank you so much. that fixed the Problem . for a few weeks i had RAD-Studio installed , but he did not clean that setting correctly while removing the Programm. so it was almost at the Top. now it worked "first Try".
