Title: Menu bug with ff7_mo and ff7_bc exes
Post by: ExDuelist on 2019-06-02 00:29:08
Steps to reproduce:

1. Enter menu
2. Choose Magic
3. Select anything to cure your party

There. The middle character name isn't shown.

Is your game not in English?

Is your game not in English?

I considered this possibility but no, language has nothing to do about it, even because i certainly don't change the characters' original names.
Probably is 7H converter related, 'cause ff7_ss_safer.exe isn't showing this particular problem despite being able to overhaul menus (i can't of course use that exe, it suffers many other problems).

Up, i solved basically every problem encountered except for this, does anybody know how to fix ff7_bc.exe to make the middle name appear?

Custom EXEs are no longer used or supported in 7H 2.0. If you're still using 7H 1.x, that's also no longer supported. 7H 2.0 should be used with the stock EXE and ESUI (Enhanced Stock UI) as your menu overhaul mod.

I'm sorry but i like r03e better, especially in battle, so i'll keep using it with 7th heaven 1.54.
So, where to edit the custom exe to make that name appear, anybody got a clue?

What specifically do you like about the r03 MO better?

Probably the "no battle boxes" that's with the FFX style battle menu. The trade-off for losing out so much from 7H 2.0 is not with it imo, but to each their own. Good luck.

But ESUI has no battle boxes/transparent menus as an option. With having same features and more options than r03, a multitude of bug fixes, the controller button support, etc., There's no reason to be glued to the old MO anymore, so I'm legitimately wondering why anyone would still prefer mo over esui?

User Interface 3.0 doesn't have it, but I think 3.1 will. Still compiling and testing with Chris before its release.

Also, i prefer the "centered text descriptions" while on menu, and how the materia abilities are listed, much more harmonious.
