Hmm I had been using 43.30 for quite some time.
43.45 are here now, but... they're still not WHQL certified?
-
That's the driver I had problems with FF7 under...
-
Well, the GeForce FX drivers are here... :P

[Edit] FF7 seems to work fine for me (8-bit Paletized Textures diabled from RivaTuner, nVidia TNT patch enabled in FF7Config)
-
Hmm. I remember the old 650 dets. The ones GAURENTIED to run FFVII and FFVIII with some tweaking. Sigh... those were the days.
-
Still true to some extent. Not all that difficult to get FFVII running properly with the new Det drivers.
Guaranteed.
-
Tell me, how do these drivers run on a Geforce2/Ge2 Pro?
-
It's better not using the Rivatuner way....The FF7.exe from the patch has a few graphical glitches....Besides Nvidia fix their 8 bit pallet.
You just need the patch so you can select Hardware mode.....Use the original FF7.exe and Don't check any Riva options....
It works with Win98SE and a G2 anyway...I can't really say how good it looks with the others.
-
Fine, except in WinXP with GeForce3/4Ti you get messed up text without disabling the 8-bit Paletized Textures from RivaTuner.

The new detonator drivers seem to make things slower for me. Well, at least in Morrowind. They would probably be more effective on newer cards, anyways. I have a sucky geforce2 mx400 :weep:
However, FF7 runs great. I don't even have to check the NVIDIA support boxes anymore. It's just great.

Yeah, see, I look at the drivers in terms of 2D quality, 3D quality, speed, crispness, and Video Quality (yes, drivers -do- effect video playback).
Right now the undisputed champion is the 38.80 driver set. I've been waiting for an update one to replace it for some time...:\
