Post by: lim20 on 2003-04-23 15:23:35
Hiya, I just finished FF VII, and after the movie where cloud uses his omnislash, and then the credits... and a movie starts... " then 500 years later..." and then my comp crashes!! I can't see a thing!!SO what happens then? Could anyone please tell me?

I've already tried playing the movies with mediaplayer/ divx player, they don't seem to work

Chances are, that video file is corrupted.

I haven't touched FF7 for 3 years... let me see if I still remember... What happened after 500 years? Red XIII took his children to a cliff and they looked at Midgar (Which has plants growing on it due to the lifestream?) if I'm not mistaken... I might be wrong....

Try and play the movie off the CD... you'll see what happens (if it works).

Well Aaron if he said that he tried playing it on mediaplayer/ divx player and it didn't work I think it's safe to assume that the file is corrupted (?)

well all i can see is a black screen, this is with all the .avi files, they all play very fast, 2-3 seconds and then it s finished. i don't know why this is... i have all codecs too... nimopack .. mpeg4 .. so?!

Well then I don't think the file is corrupted. It's another problem. Sorry, can't help, I never faced such issues before when I played FF7 on my Pentium II machine (Which was fine with FF7, surely) and I haven't touched the game for 3 years.. I think other people in the forum should've seen this problem before and you should get an answer soon.

On Eidos's site, they have the "Upside down video patch."  This patch installs the codec to play the videos properly in Windows Media Player and might fix some of your problems.

Are the file sizes on all the video files tiny with a screen size of 0x0 and a length of zero seconds? That is what happens when you download the game off the net. You lose sound effects and video files.

No, it isn't original. That's the problem with the RIPped version on the internet, every video file lasts for 2-3 seconds to save up the space.

Thread closed, because
1) ...it's in the wrong forum.
2) ...we don't do techsupport on illegal rips, and even if we did, the problem doesn't have a solution.
3) ...either lim20 really doesn't have a clue, or he was lying. Neither prospect is very hopeful.
