if the movies dont run when you try to play them in media player, they wont work in the game right so how do i get them to work, i'm talkin about the rocket and meteor ones because i cant get past that part now so does anyone know how i can get the movies to work.

Download the duck truemotion update. Then you can play the movies. You must have the correct decoder to play those types of movies.
And define "get the movies to work". Do they simply screw up for apparently no reason? Or do they just play wrong, like something is missing?
Well, you can get the video decoder here (http://ftp.eidos.com/pub/patches/final_fantasy7/ff7betap1.exe).

when i try to play them in media player it doesn't play nothing and when i get to that part in the game it goes black and i could still hear a noise
-
well, did you try the truemotion decoder patch? by the way, what version of windows are you running?
-
i am running windows xp i have the xp patch i used the decorder thing you told me to download and it still doesn't work.when i try to play the movie in media player it says its either corrupt or media player does not play that format of movie. What should i do. Should i get rid of the xp patch
-
Do the movies play in the game? If so, don't worry. The version of media player that comes with xp blows. So does every version after that. And after that. But, if there is still something wrong when you try to play them in the game, try removing the xp patch. It may be your best bet. Anyone else wanna add to this?

the movies dont play in the game so i'm going to try removing the patch and then i'll get bak to you to see if this worked
-
it didn't work in the game the screen goes black at that part where the rocket hits meteor and then theres a huge explosion it shows everyone who saw the explosion but after you see shrina hq a second time. the screen goes black there and all you here is a sound
-
i didn't know how to edit before so sorry about that but seriously i really need help in the game i cant get by that stupid part
-
I hate to get mad about it, but it is annoying.
Don't make consecutive posts, just edit your most recent one if you have something new to say, unless someone else has made a new post in the same thread since then.

The movies did work fine before a certain point, correct? Because there is no other way you could have gotten that far in the game, anyways. Try getting your system back to how it was when it did work.

.....
Anyway...
Sound like a bad disk....looks to me like those movies are corrupt, because of a scratch or something.
Since you already know which movies that are bad, you can do the substitution method, without me searching for the movie names for you.
You'll need to copy the movies to your Harddrive. Then you'll need to go into windows registery and set the path for the location of the movies..... After that, you'll need to copy/rename a short movie that works with the one that doesn't. This should get you through the corrupt movie thing.
For instruction on editing the registery. Look at step 3.
