ohhhh, OST get ripped :) haha
-
WHat program do you use to convert CD Audio Tracks to mp3 files?
-
I don't mind ISO's
If you would divide them into seperate files of 200MB's or less, preferably NOT in zip file format.
-
Audio Converter (http://www.audconv.com/) rips tracks directly to MP3.
But when you do it, only make it 128bit. Beyond that, your wasting HD space. The human ear can only hear a MAXIMUM of 128bit.

What!?!? Where did you hear that one? Why do you think people spend thousands of pounds to make their music sound good. If you think it's cos 128 sounds the same as 320 its probably cos of your sound system. If you get a really expensive sound kit (No, I dont just mean SBLive!) something like 320kbps will sound stunning compared to 128kbps.

I've test them, done some research, and here's what I have to say:
The human ear can only hear a maximum of 128 bits. That does not mean the sound card does. The sound card however, ends up sending it out as best it can, but you still hear it in 128bit despite you playing it at 320bits.
Personally, I don't see why a file has to be 150% bigger to get the same quality sound. (Quality in terms of what we end up hearing, not what is being played through your speakers.) And since I'm on a 33.6 modem running at less than 28.8, I've looked into this. (I'd be on cable or DSL, but we aren't supported.) I don't want to spend time downloading files bigger than they need to be.
However, if you go above 44.1kHz, then that's different! There is a loud and crystal clear distinction between 44.1kHz and 48kHz.

Hey Jari. I got an oldish Pioneer Vsa-701s soruound system.
Its only pro-ligic but boy do the speakers I got have some umpth to them. Bit if bass to them to say the least. I got about as much bass down here as my dad has upstairs with his new fangled "active" sub woofer. And there was a minor diffrence between them two samples.
They say the human eye can only see to 30 fps or something but my bloody eyes can easyly see the diffrence between 30-60 fps.
60-90 fps. Ect ect.
I think 128 bits and 256/320 bits would have been a better test. Theres not much between 128 and 196 any way.

my computer is too slow, it needs 2days! to convert all 4 CDs to mp3. For those of you who can't wait, here's my ftp address. (it's not completed yet)

my friend posted the soundtracks on Morpheus. If you have Kazza or Morpheus just type the keyword in search.
the keywords are:
Final Fantasy X Original Soundtrack Disc1
Final Fantasy X Original Soundtrack Disc2
Final Fantasy X Original Soundtrack Disc3
Final Fantasy X Original Soundtrack Disc4
-
Search finished without any result.

I'm quite surprised that Square put a heavy-metal/rock song on the game. Its the theme to either Tidus or that water ball game thing.
And doesnt your friend have to be online for people to download the songs?
-
Yes he does so youll have to find a window when the guys on, but that file must be pretty large so what happens if he leaves before youve finished?
-
I've ordered mine, and it have arrived today!
Preliminary hearing seems to suggest that it's better than FF9 soundtrack ( worse of all FF soundtracks I've owned ), but still have to hear more to see if it was as good as FF8 and FF7.
BUY ORIGINALS FOLKS! HA!
-
I loved FFIXs music almost equal to VIIs.
I have loved every damn peice of Nobou music I have heard(same for that guy that did the music to Chrono Triger). But I dont know about FFXs...I am going to go get Morpheus now and have a look-see.
-
don't worry all the tracks are in mp3 format my friend's T1 server is on 24/7
-
Song name Example:
Final Fantasy X Original Soundtrack Disc4 01 - Yuuna no ketsui.mp3
-
Freeman, are you done with all the FFX MP3s yet? I can't wait!!
-
http://www.gamingforce.com/audio/mp3/af/ff10ost.php :D
OST is COMPLETE AND UTTER crap so far though.
Try listening to the prelude. Yuk!
-
:PHOLY SHIT. The prelude makes me think that Uematsu IS dead, and they hid his body and are trying to cover it up. If he wrote this, hell, if he even APPROVED it for the game, my trust in him is shattered. :P
-
Achally I am well into Cd 2 now. The OST isnt that bad. Acahlly I have a therory why I didnt like it so much in the first place.
I remember back when I download the FFIX Ost a good few months before it was out in the USA and I remember not thinking much of the music. I loved a few tracks like the battle music but I didnt really think it was as good as VIIs ost.
But now I have the game I love the music. Each tune the same as FFVII/VIII has its own story to it. And I think thats what I'm missing here. I am just hearing storyless music at the moment.
Take 2-13 Miihen Highway. I heard this music in a movie thanks to The Saint( :D) and I thought it was quite good. Reason? I know where the music is played.
I dont know how to fully explain it but does any one share my feeling on this?
Prelude still is crap though.
I say BAH! to it. Again lets give it a chance. During the prelude something that SUITS the music might be happening on the screen. So that music might be really good once we get our gruby little hands on the game.
-
I want to wait for the game to hear the full soundtrack, so I will not be downloading the whole thing. Brass De Chocobo is pretty good, though. But I understand where Canealot is coming from. You need to know the context. I remember hearing 'Eyes On Me' before I had played FF8, and I hated it. Now, after playing the game, I think it is wonderful. Suketi Da Ne is kinda catchy. I HOPE THEY MAKE THIS GAME FOR THE PC!!!!!!!!!
-
Ah you know what I mean then. Good.
Any way. Its conformed for pc "in comeing years". Sigh....
-
I reckon it will be out on the PC about a year after the japanese release date
-
HOLY CRAP!!! You're kidding, right??? Can you give me a link to the confirmation? OMG, really?! YES! YES YES YES YES YEEEES*! I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOO HAPPY! I don't care how long it takes, just as long as they make it! Thank you for making my day!
*comment on that and i'll find a way to kill you.
-
Scroll back. I made a post about in months ago.
-
Well it was confirmed ages ago to be comeing to the pc Im just takeing a guess based on the FF8 release time
-
Ah yes. That. I don't know about that. I have known about it and hoped it was true, but don't you think that other news sites would've reported it too? Wouldn't square have made a press release, at least? I really hope it's true, though.

-
you go to the square website and see the last time they updated the news page you realise why you should believe the gameing websites, square has put up 2 news articles this year, i think they got killed by a malignant proccessor fan and nobody realised
-
lol. Anyway, I really hope that it's true!
-
I'm still downloading the 1st CD :( The 7th track, to be exact. The prelude sounds like that maybe because my friend from square said that Nobuo is "An unsucessful chamber music composer" and Nobuo heard. Maybe this is the reason why. Overworld is worst.
-
Hey... anyone know which is supposed to be a boss fight? Or maybe even a "bigger" boss fight?
-
About your bit war earlier... may be a little off-topic now but I want my say.
Yeah, it may be true that the human ear can only hear 128-bit. But in MP3s, that's not what the "bitrate" is... the bitrate is the rate that data is passing through to make sounds... and its really kilobits. Your "128-bit MP3" is playing sounds at 128 kilobits per second.
Quality is different depending on file format. You can usually get 192 k-bit MP3 quality into a 128, 96, or maybe even 64 k-bit WMA8 file.
-
The problem with MP3's is often with the encoder rather than the format.
To take Bladeenc as an example: that used to REALLY mess up soft guitar sounds on one of my CD's at 128KBit; I had to push the bitrate up to 192 in order avoid noticeable "blipping". OTOH, Musicmatch encodes the same track to 128KBit and I can't tell the different between that and the original CD. There's a very large difference between the quality of encoders.
If you're really looking at saving file size VBR MP3's are good ... you can drop the bitrate to lower than 96KBit without losing an awful lot of quality. I'm not sure how good the new WMA formats are but that isn't an option for me since I use an personal MP3 player...

Okay, after searching in google for 100 hours(I didin't sleep last night) for an alternative FFX OST download site, I gave up. Is there anyone here who knows another site which offers FFX OST download???
-
Whats wrong with the site I gave you Joey?
Its sad that you got no sleep lasy nightbecuase you were looking for a silly ost and spent 4 days looking for it to.Give it up Joey. If you cant find it after 4 days then boy you suck. I found a link on a FF forum to that old place(I already knew about that place but I forgot about it) in about 10 minutes.
-
That site is sooooooo slow that it would take 10 hours just to download 1 CD of tracks. besides, my mom will kill me if the line is engaged when she calls back. I've got half a mind to send a sub7 worm to that site.
-
WAAAAAAAAAAH! I CAN'T GET THAT DAMNED 'PRELUDE' OUT OF MY HEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
About the music formats thing I ripped some files off a CD into 64k WMA files and they are the same quality as 128K MP3 files.
-
So
On the OST
Anyone know where "boss" or "bigger boss" music is? I can't find one that looks obvious by its title.
-
About the FTP add that freeman gave: IT'S INACESSABLE?
Can someone tell me why?
-
What about the prelude? It's funny and refreshing!!!
-
For people who downloaded the FFX movies, is the prelude on the movie where Tidus is running around talking to people and signing their balls? (Heh heh :D). If it is then I gotta say, its......different.
-
Joey, it's awful and tasteless. (I'm talking about the SONG 'prelude'). People that like that song routinely listen to Spice Girls cds and claim it's the best music ever. :P
[This message has been edited by MMiller8 (edited August 25, 2001).]
-
What have you got against the spice girls, some of them can even turn on the song themselves
-
What have you got against the spice girls, some of them can even press play themselves

You guys do like chamber music. Yet another Q: Where can I find FFX OST downloads? I'm @ disc 3 and that @!$@#$% Gamingforce audio took it down. Any alts?
