I'm not even bothering with the movie. My freind says it is one of the most stupidest movies ever and it brings shame to the Final Fantasy name.

I hate Square Soft for what they did to the film. And if FFX is crap I will hate them even more!

Yeah, Yeah.....don't believe everything your friends tell you. I'm sure it's better than Titan AE.

friends are not trustworthy.  three of my best friends are compulsive liars.  AREN'T YOU, TAYLOR?

TAYLOR>  no, im not

See?  SEE?????

And anyway, those are with a Quadro, not a gf3.  and I don't think they are real time, I think they are just rendering them with it.

I don't know if that a Quadro or if that's a GF3, but there's one thing I'm sure of...

THOSE ARE NOT THE MOVIE MODELS THEY'RE DISPLAYING!!

Those are the low quality models used for the animation. (I know they look good. They have to have a lot of geo because they have to have the same control points as the HQ version so they don't have to animate with the system intensive HQ models.) After the animation is done, they replace those models with the HQ ones, then ship them off to be rendered on a render farm using Pixar's Renderman.

As for the film, GO SEE IT DAMN IT! It may not be the best film in the world, it is among the best films I've ever seen. (And I've seen FAR too many films!) Trust me. It's worth the $6 to see it on the big screen! (I gotta get a job and buy a home theater and a big screen TV before the 23rd...)

It would have been a better film if it werew shorter, why you ask, because there are too many points where not much was happening which would have been better left out, also I dont know about you but it is not one of the best films i have seen.

Issa quadro DCC.  Guess issa real time, too!

Issa quadro? I dont know about issa but you can mod a GF2/3 into there respective Quadros simply by doing some soldering on the board.

Dosent matter any way. The specs of the GeForce 3 Ultra looks insane!!
Lookie here:

GeForce 3 (normal version)
Fabrication Process: 0.15-micron
Rendering Pipelines 4
Texture Units per Pipeline 4
57 million transistors
800 billion operations per second
76 Gigaflops
350MHz RAMDAC
64MB DDR SDRAM (3.8ns memory chips)
200MHz core and 460MHz memory frequencies
3.2Gtexel/sec theoretical fillrate
Full DirectX8 Compatible
nFiniteFX Engine(Pixel Shader processor and Vertex Shader processor)

------------------------------------
GeForce3 Ultra/Ultra Advanced
Core 300Mhz
0.13 micron
570Mhz DDR (3.5ns)
Ramdac 360MHz
Improved 2D RF filters
128MB Memory
2 additional Vertex Shaders
Improved AA(Quintex) Max AA of 8x
Dual Head Capability
Tv/Cable Tv/HD tuner (Ultra Advanced only)
FM Tuner (Ultra Advanced only)

Next-Generation Eclipse (Rumour)
Core 315MHz
0.13 micron
644Mhz DDR Memory (3.1ns)
128 MB Memory
Ramdac 360Mhz
NfiniteFX 2
Improved Color methods
B.O.D.E. Body, Object, Design, envioment
6 pipelines, 4 Simultaneous Textures or applied per pixel clock
Maximum Active Textures per pass 24
512bit architecture
5 vertex shaders
Improved AA(Quintex) Max AA of 10x
64bit true color
Dual Head Capability

Insane! The GeForce 3 ultra is gonne kick so much ass! But remember ATI to. ATI are coming in with there latest card.

Now isnt every one hopeing we get a AMD-Itel price war going on between ATI and Nvidia?
That would be cool for prices  :D

Yeah, because with voodoo out of the buisness, the price are huge!! So we need a price war!!

I wish Kyro would push their stuff more.  A Kyro vs. Nvidia war over the 3D market would be interesting.

Heh... The reason Voodoo is out of the picture is cause Nvidia bought them, then discontinued the Voodoos.

But your guys are right. RAM is down... Chips are down... It's about time the price of VCs went down!

ofcourse its down... It a war.. IF voodoo hasn't sold out, we would have way lower price at the moment.. Oh well, just hope ATI does a good job, since we didn't really heard about them..

It is a war, but that term is very politically incorrect;  the preferred term is called "competition".

First off about the real time FF demo. The graphics were cut down ALOT from the movie. Also, when they say real time, they don't necessarily mean 60FPS. "Real-time" in 3d graphics is considered to be something you can interact with. The demo ran at at about 1 frame every .1 second, so no more than 10FPS at its fastest.

And the graphics in FFX aren't exactly demanding  :)

The Geforce4 is basically the same as the Xbox chip, a Geforce3 with 2 vertex shaders instead of a single one.

Also, the 6 pipeline rumor is most likely fake. A 6 pipeline architecture would actually be harder to design than an 8 pipeline chip.

How do we do this Quadro modding?

Kick arse.

Yeah, I think they're coming out.  Nvidia is denying them tho.

There will be newer cards(not sure how soon), but they will probably be Geforce4, not 3.

That is the way nVidia works. Examples:

TNT
TNT2
TNT2 Pro
TNT2 Vanta
TNT2 Ultra
TNT2 M64

Geforce
Geforce2 GTS
Geforce2 MX
Geforce2 Ultra
Geforce2 Go
Geforce2 Pro

See what I mean?

Yea that is the pattern. But ATI is comeing out with guns bigger than GeForce 3.
So Nvidia need to come out with something.
That something is the GF3 MX/Pro/Ultra.

They denied the N-Force till a while ago to.
And then a month after they denied it they anounced it. I'm sure they will anounce it in a few weeks.
