*pats his GeForce 3*
Like we are gonna have trouble when FFX pc comes along now :D

I hate Square Soft for what they did to the film. And if FFX is crap I will hate them even more!
TAYLOR> no, im not
See? SEE?????
And anyway, those are with a Quadro, not a gf3. and I don't think they are real time, I think they are just rendering them with it.

THOSE ARE NOT THE MOVIE MODELS THEY'RE DISPLAYING!!
Those are the low quality models used for the animation. (I know they look good. They have to have a lot of geo because they have to have the same control points as the HQ version so they don't have to animate with the system intensive HQ models.) After the animation is done, they replace those models with the HQ ones, then ship them off to be rendered on a render farm using Pixar's Renderman.
As for the film, GO SEE IT DAMN IT! It may not be the best film in the world, it is among the best films I've ever seen. (And I've seen FAR too many films!) Trust me. It's worth the $6 to see it on the big screen! (I gotta get a job and buy a home theater and a big screen TV before the 23rd...)

Sephiroth 3D's Promised Land
At SIGGRAPH 2001 NVIDIA unveils the *Square Final Fantasy Technology Demo. Running on an NVIDIA Quadro DCC, the demo exemplifies interactive real-time 3D rendering on a standard computing platform.
Issa quadro DCC. Guess issa real time, too!
Dosent matter any way. The specs of the GeForce 3 Ultra looks insane!!

Insane! The GeForce 3 ultra is gonne kick so much ass! But remember ATI to. ATI are coming in with there latest card.
Now isnt every one hopeing we get a AMD-Itel price war going on between ATI and Nvidia?
That would be cool for prices :D
But your guys are right. RAM is down... Chips are down... It's about time the price of VCs went down!

And the graphics in FFX aren't exactly demanding :)
The Geforce4 is basically the same as the Xbox chip, a Geforce3 with 2 vertex shaders instead of a single one.
Also, the 6 pipeline rumor is most likely fake. A 6 pipeline architecture would actually be harder to design than an 8 pipeline chip.
That is the way nVidia works. Examples:
TNT
TNT2
TNT2 Pro
TNT2 Vanta
TNT2 Ultra
TNT2 M64
Geforce
Geforce2 GTS
Geforce2 MX
Geforce2 Ultra
Geforce2 Go
Geforce2 Pro
See what I mean?
They denied the N-Force till a while ago to.
And then a month after they denied it they anounced it. I'm sure they will anounce it in a few weeks.
