Title: Jenova wont work
Post by: Cloud Strife on 2003-10-26 13:44:26
I have a problem with Jenova. It doesnt work! I select a slot then a save file, Edit items and chars and save. Then it says it cant open the save file and i cant select that slot anymore. Greiver works perfecly. Does any one know how to fix this? FF7CHE can only edit chars you have and i cant open the safe in time. I want to get Vincent.

Could it possibly be to do with where you installed FF7 to on your hard-drive? Maybe it's looking in the wrong place.. can you manually select the save game... I can't remember how Jenova works... not used it for a while.

Hmmm You are using the PC version.. I forgot what I did to run it (ponders).
I'll mess with it.. I think you have to browse to the location where the SAVE file is not where FF7 is :)  confusing? maybe.

Does Jenova need those DLLs that are not included in the download?

Goto the safe in Nibelheim Mansion. Enter the code RIGHT 36, LEFT 10, RIGHT 59, RIGHT 97 and defeat Lost Number. <Hint... paralyse>. After the battle get Odin and the Basement Key from the safe and you will be able to enter that room now. You have to talk to vincent twice and then leave the room... eventually he will follow you.

I remember some people having trouble opening the safe.  When he says "Go RIGHT 36," you have to select the number 36 the first time you hit it.  Meaning if you go past it to 37 or 38, and then go back to 36 and select it, you won't be able to open the safe.  Be careful.

Also, at a low level, watch out for the miniboss, Lost Number.
If you gotta problem with Jenova save editor, try reinstalling the DLLs. If there is still a problem, reinstall Jenova.

AFAIK Qhimm's programs are not "installable". They are just stand-alone executables (apart from TTG I think).

You might need the MFC DLLs, they are available from Qhimm's site.  Those should be the only extra files required...

Erm... I think you have to send your Chocobo to the Chocobo Farm and then you can race it in the Gold Saucer. You'll just have to go looking for some tracks. I'm sure there are some tracks actually around the desert near the Gold Saucer actually.

Dont try to get Beta from the Midgar Zolom until youre at least lvl 40, LVL 50 is recommended.

Getting Beta isn't that hard. All you need is some luck.

What I do is I use Fire Ring (Nullifies the Beta attack) and hope that the Zolom doesn't knock-out the character (off-screen) with the Fire Ring. Use Hi-Potion to constantly heal characters, use Big Guard and constantly use Summon on the Zolom.... until the Zolom uses Beta.

Of course, you'll need to kill the Zolom if you want to learn the enemy skill (And make sure that the Beta was used on the char with Fire Ring!). I got Beta quite early on in the game (Before I went to Nibel).. and it really made things much easier. Beta works against the Zolom very well too, so if you want to learn Beta on another Enemy Skill, you can use Beta against the Zolom

How can a Fire ring work where a Ribbon wont work?
Title: Jenova wont work
Post by: ye-roon on 2003-10-31 12:53:17
fire ring nullifies FIRE attacks so NO dmg from FIRE based attacks

Ribbon just makes sure u don't get stat ailments like frog/small/silence etc.

It would be great if you could equip more than one accessory. It would be funny if the was a char thats protected from everything exept frog.

Why everything except frog? I find it really annoying, seeing as it 1/6 or so your attack% and attack. Heck, if you like frogs that much, go find a Touch Me in Gongaga...
---edit---
A bit off-topic, but:
Who the hell thought of the name Touch Me? It sounds rude.

Its called a touch me because its attacks turn you into a frog.

I didnt say i like frog.

wanna know how to get them (pretty easy), make sure you get the Morph Materia (forgot where) and then try and Morph a Tonberry in the Mountain where Sephiroth hides, if you succeed, you'll most often get a ribbon, jut remember though tonberries are difficult enemies.

I meant it would be funny if there was someone that was invincible but could be beaten by being turned into a frog.

Has everyone forgot that Jenova is a FF7 editor?

Frog isnt too bad on its own. Frog and mini is a nightmare all your attacks 1 damage!(and thats with the Ultimate Weapon)

This has really made me wonder...do you have a pirated copy of FF7 by any chance? Also, what site did you download it from. NO WAIT DONT FLAME ME but it is true you can get it on other sites. I saw Jenova on this site (http://www.ff7citadel.com). And it said it was made by a person named FFSuPeRmAn!!! Legal?
Title: Is it the same Jenova?

Hi!

I haven't checked it yet, but if it's the same Jenova program, then won't it have Qhimm's name on it? If it doesn't, and it's the same program used without Qhimm's permission, then FFSuPeRmAn should be ashamed of himself, and should face the wrath of xeriouxi!

xeriouxi.

I downloaded.... the program does have Qhimm's old name in it (Mrdata82).... and I still can't find any references to FFSuPeRmAn..

Though it has to be said, the site didn't give any credit to Qhimm for the program..

No.

It is completerly pirated if he gave you a copy of it for free.
You should really be ashamed of yourself for that....do you not know of Ebay?

And yes, it IS illegal if its free as it is not abandon ware.  AFAIN SS and Eidos have not released the source code and the game into the public domain(if they had, we would be alot further into knowing how the game is put together)
And no. daggerfall is not abandonwares. only arena is for the moments ans Bethdesa has released it as a special gift.

FF3 is also VERY illegal to download as it is a ROM and hence, not the original copy.  Unless you own the original cartridge i suggest you stop downloading ROMS.

Have a nice day

 :D
