hi i have a problem with the ff7 i got for the pc. It crashes when iam talking to barret on the rail that is broken.
-
What are your computer specs?
-
It's very handy if you told us indeed, but I can tell you one thing alrwady, if you've got WinXP, that's defenitely the problem, I played it at a friend's place, he has WinXP and we had to download like 155 patches or so, before we could play the entire game, so frustrating!!!
-
I think that if its not in the faq it should be by now.. I am talking about how to post an issue with FF7 or 8 PC.. or any other computer problem.. I understand that people are new and everything, but how do they honestly expect anyone to pull an answer out of there ass.. (one that isnt filled with sarcasm) and get their game working..
If you post about a game issue include:
OS information.. maybe even service packs..
Does your game have any patches on it?
Computer Specs
Video card, and Drivers..
Is there an error message? if so what does it say?
Does it crash back to windows or freeze.. that kinda crap..
I cant think of anything else right now but there is probably something obvious i missed.. but if thats not in the faq i think it should be.. I have seen to many people say (myself included) thats not enough information to piss on.. how can we know what is going on.. ^_^

hey, someon elink every patch ever made into one path, and have people dowload it lol

...the rail that is broken????? I don't even know where that's at.
Doesn't sound like a common crash.
-
Hi!
Is the broken rail you are talking about when you on the way to the mining town. The broken rail is the place where you fall down and down and down... and down when the rail snaps, right? :D
xeriouxi.

make a right mouse clik on ff7's .exe , choose "properties" and try to activate the Win98 compatibility mode... this options stop crashes on some programs...
-
Compatability mode probably won't have any effect on a problem that happens at a specific spot. Pretty much the only thing it solves is pre-determined full crashes. For example, the world map is fine. But then, you go into a town. You go to another screen at the town, the game crashes, and this happens 100% of the time. Compatability mode fixes something like that. It probably won't help a non-continual crash.
But I suppose it wouldn't hurt to try. You know, just for spite in hope of proving me wrong. That sort of thing.
However, the guy hasn't even determined whether he has winxp or not..let alone released any information.

I know that problem... and that problem is...
HE GOT THE RIP VERSION OF THE GAME!!!
The only way to solve the problem:
1) Get out of the house..
2) Walk to the nearest game shop
3) Purchase the FULL GAME
4) Install it and patch all the patch you can find
5) Enjoy it! :D:D:D

Bluetank, unless you have evidence to support that, please don't go criticizing people. Not to mention that its hard to find stores selling FF7 PC anymore. And karim89, if it is a copied or downloaded or otherwise illegal version of the game, we can't help you.

My version is off the internet. Got it at the Amazon Store (http://www.amazon.com). Its the best, or Ebay could work.

oh well, then i apologize... and i'm sorry if i sound like critisizing... its just that i know he got the RIP version out of the internet... >_<"
i just borrowed the RIP version of the game, and asked him to send me the save file to test is it his comp or is it the game itself.
It still failed to proceed, as i see that it has illegal operation. So i went to megagames to find if any no-cd crack matches the one from the RIP, i found out that the people actually puts a german crack into a english game. So i think thats basically the only problem...

I don't know why these 'types' just don't do their own research and use ePSXe or something. It would be a lot easier.
