Hi
I dug up an old magazine scan, which was posted on this forum about 1-2 years ago
I dont remember if anyone actually found the source, or the location of the unknown "cave of light" scene in this scan:
NOTE: could be a made up shot, but on the other hand, notice how cloud is floating :P
-
Might that be the cave visited during Cloud's flashback at Kalm?
-
Yes that is the cave where they find the condensed mako energy (materia) in the flashback... but I don't remember that particular scene... japanese version perhaps?
-
Hmm no, that's not the Kalm flashback... It does however look like the cave where you find the Key of the Ancients. It was cut from the final version; you only get a message "Found the Key of the Ancients" when passing that point in the ocean now. Unless anyone has a better explanation...?
-
does look like he is underwater, the small ringed section to the top left shows cloud (smaller) moving in top to bottom,
It isnt in the original Jap version by anychance?
-
I accesed it on PSX, it gives you a materia(independant, if my memory serves me right). To get there, go out of the area where you see the materia keeper, the door is NW from him. You'll see the Jenova reactor, take cloud away from the reactor, go down the slopes, and through the almost-hidden cave entrance where you'll see it. Unfortunately, you cannot take the natural materia >_<

solved by seph2000! ;)
-
Hidden Cave...?!? Not at all, you can access it from PC/PSOne!!!
Edit - I'm working on it ^^
-
Hi!
I tried to find it before the Materia Keeper fight, but all I could find is the cave where you go to in the Kalm flashback with Tifa. It doesn't look too different from the image, but it doesn't look the same. Is this the right one or a different one? :-?

guys guys guys!
We have already mentioned that it WASNT the cave in the flashback,
it is a completly different cave, notice colour etc
-
Hi!
I know that... I was wondering where the cave in the picture is, though. I followed the instructions that Sephiroth2000 provided and found the same cave as in the Kalm flashback... but I couldn't find the cave pictured. :-?

-
Hmmm...which continent did you find it on? I have a gold chocobo so it shouldn't be too hard to find it once i know roughly which area it is in.
-
Hi!
Wasn't it you who told the rest of us where the cave is... and now you're trying to find it too? :-?
I found it following your directions, Sephiroth2000, but it isn't the same cave as the one pictured...

I thought that was the cave pictured. Now i know that it isn't that one, i wish to solve the riddle... :D
-
I have a feeling this is gonna bug me for a while.
-
hello,
did you guys read what qhimm said

Oh!
Well damn, I'd always wondered why they were so blunt about that. Just swim into the cave and there's this all-important artifact just lying there... You'd think you'd at least find a stray boot somewhere, first, or "Found the Priceless Ming Vase." *chuckles*
-
Or a free beer :p
-
Heh. Anyone notice Bugehangen on the top left? That definately doesn't look like Cloud. You can just make out the circle of Bugenhagens err... "float" thingy...
-
Odd, I was reasonably sure the top left thing was another screenshot of this place but with Cloud standing in the far door, placed on top of the large screenshot in the magazine.
-
Hi!
I think it looks like a mirror image of him, IMO. It looks also like a Cloud-Bugenhagen clone! :D
-

Ahh. Now I look more closely thats exactly how it is ^_^
-
lol :D
-
hey! after i analyse it for a while... it seems to me that a part of the top left pic is a smaller middle part of the picture! Look at the door at the top left corner and compare it with the one for the bigger picture.. the door looks exactly the same!
You can also notice that on the top left part, there are also glows that appear to be part of the biger picture for the centre part...
so i think this is a total make up screenshot.. sephiroth2000.. dun bother to look for it.. cause it doesn't even exist...
and i was wondering.. is that cloud floating picture taken from the first reactor where there is a sudden flashback saying "this is not just a reactor"?
oh.. and to the left part, where there is a small cliff, isn't it the same one as the one where Cloud and Elene met and Elene introduced herself as the new TURK?

right click and save as.. see for the red color circles that i made to identify those identical parts...

bluetank
i dont know what your on about,
cos if u read qhimm's posts, he has said that section in top left of the shot is actually an earlier shot of the same screen, showing cloud entering the scene.
and no i doubt it is made up from another location
-
oops.. sorry.. didn't see dat.. haha.
my mistake... but i tried to figure it out... so sorry...

This is a picture of the huge materia cave in Mount Nibel. Take a look at the branch and ground. Identical. This is the same location, with a really cruddy screenshot. Or, it's been modified to appear to be somewhere else.
It's definately, however, nothing new.
