can someone see that if they were able to send a e-mail to the technical support for eidos regarding FFVII? I was trying to request for a 32bit and higher resolution patch. If you were able to send it, could u pls send it for me? Thanks.

Hi. I have a request to made for Final Fantasy VII PC version. Its not actually me, its actually many of the other people who plays Final Fantasy VII. All wishes to play the game with 32 bit support, and with higher resolutions, for example, 1024x768. As i see, there are many more Final Fantasy series developing, and most have good resolutions of 800x600 and above with 32bit support, for example, Final Fantasy XI. So as i see that for making a patch which allows the game to run at higher resolution isn't a hard thing for SquareSoft to do, as Squaresoft is talented in making games. I therefore hope that you will look deeply into this matter. I will continue to support the Final Fantasy Series.

Best Regards,
Your name

I don't think you're going to get anything from them in reguards to a 32-bit resolution patch.  They didn't even release a patch to fix compatibility with FF7 and Windows 2000 and Windows XP (the chocoobo bug), and don't seem much interested in working on that game anymore.

Hi!

It's a good idea... but it isn't very easy to do. The backgrounds are the original 320x240 ones from the PSX stretched to 640x480. Stretching them more will more than likely make the backgrounds either not show correctly or make them VERY horrible to look at. As for the 32-bit patch... Ficedula's worked just fine except for the movies...  :-?

BTW... have you tried to email them but got no response... or just couldn't email them period?  :-?

Good luck if you get them to move their behinds on it, though!

Asking Eidos to work on FFVII?
Yeah right. That was tried a VERY long time ago and we got nothing for it. It's only due to the knowledge and luck of people from the old Eidos forum and here that we have fixes for a lot of the problems.

Eidos ain't gonna do jack unless you dump a billion dollers into their hands.

Sorry, but thats how it is.

The only way any real work would be done to that game is if we....

HACK THEIR SYSTEM AND STEAL THE SOURCE CODE!
Come on! its not like its all heavily guarded! Who's with me!

Yea its true but anything is worth a try ehz? Just put in a few good words to them, telling how many FF VII fans there were, and how they enjoy the game, only that the graphics were not that damn nice, and it may be able to work out. Anyways, as i just said, anything is worth a try. ;)

Hi!

I think I'll try that when I get home from school later. I think we should ram the message up their behinds until they understand that people want more! If they aren't prepared to do it, then they shouldn't have decided to be the developers for the game!  :D

I also remember reading somewhere that Square released some kind of patch to improve the graphics of FFVII somewhere... I think it was on http://www.uff9.net in the FFVII section. Is this true... or not?  :-?

Ficedula did a 32-bit patch, but I think it had problems with movie playback and the battle swirl effect was gone.  He also made a patch to play the game in a window.

Hmm. I could live without battle swirl. It was the one thing about FFVIII (I know, we're not talking about VIII) the most...

Hi!

Don't give up all hope. I'm sure that there is a way on their website to contact them. If we invade it then maybe they will do something about it.
