Title: FF7 Display problem
Post by: Davion on 2004-01-21 16:00:25
I don't know if this has been asked before.

I'm running FF7 on Windows XP with an Nvidia GeforceFX 5200 graphics card and the Qhimm chocobo patch.

Everytime I play the game the game screen ins slightly off center. About a quater of an inch on the game is off the left side of the monitor, and there is a quater of an inch of black on the right side.

I have NO IDEA what to do. I've already tried the different resolution sizes in FF7config. What can I do?

Adjusting the screen manually should help.

Sometimes different vertical refresh rate may cause same problem (my poor fx5900xt  -_-  ). You can set the resolution of windows desktop to 640x480, and try to adjust the screen. If you can't fix the problem, you can change vertical refresh rate. Maybe it will work.

I'm going to guess that FF7PC is the first 640X480 game you've played on your PC. Just adjust the monitor.

Manually adjusting the monitor is the answer.

My monitor remembers what settings you have for different resolutions / refresh rates, but every now and then (when you get too many or something I guess) it forgets one so I gotta reset it.

If you dunno what these guys are talking about, there should be buttons on your monitor you can play with.  Some are more complicated than others, so you'll just have to mess with it.

And don't worry, playing with the settings while in ff7 won't affect your desktop or other programs (which is what you'll have to do, turn on ff7 and adjust the screen properties there)
