Title: Grrr!
Post by: KojiroTakenashi on 2001-09-22 20:53:00: I just got FF8 reinstalled in my machine, and I downloaded al the latest patches.
...I still get all sorts of terrible colour and texture errors.
I'm running a Geforce 2 Pro.
So, how do I make it run?

Post by: Caddberry on 2001-09-23 11:33:00: Pray.. he he he.. usually when people post crap like that.. or questions you have to include your system specs cuz that could have alot to do with it.. and also what version of Direct X your running would help too.. but until then just pray.. :)

I've mentioned my tech specs quite a few times already, and I thought people wouldn't assume I'm an idiot.
I'm running all latest drivers, that includes DX and Detonator.
I check for new stuff at least twice a week. I'm one of those insane tweaker-types. I crave performance like hannibal lecter craved human flesh.
My system ram would have nothing to do with the display, nor would my proccessor. The only deciding factor would be my G2Pro.

Do you have FFVII? Check if they pass on that to. I might know whats wrong...

Sometimes people like me are just to fuckin' lazy to look through pages of threads to find somebodies system specs.. LoL :) i am a system tweaker myself.. but sometimes its better to stick with old drivers that work instead of jumping up for the newest bugged ones that come out.. And i didnt assume you were an idiot i was only trying to point out the odvious.. Such as is your machine plugged in.. is your IDE cable firmly connected.. just crap like that .. no matter how good you are some times you can make the most idiotic of mistakes..

Post by: M0T on 2001-09-25 20:28:00: well maybe your drivers are too new, it is an old game it didnt work right with the stuff at the time so you cant expect it to work with the stuff now.

I mean, there are only some things that get messed, like player chars, and message windows...
