Title: Tribute Video
Post by: PumpkinPieman on 2004-05-11 07:42:50
Heres a FFVII tribute video I did for one of my classes. Dont worry about the encoding, I encoded it so it could fit on basic webspace.

No, it's just damn awkward that I've gotten more positive responses on a Wrestling forum then I have a forum deticated to FF. Give me some credit!

You don't even have the DivX codecs?

I just watched it. Not what I expected, but I guess it's the basic plot of the game in four minutes. I thought you were going to have some sort of orginal footage, rather than a clip show of the ff7 fmv's. It was edited quite well, I must admit. The music also went with it, too. Although not exactly the most consise tribute to FF7, it is much better than some of the stuff that was shown in a recent independent film show I went to. Good job.

8/10

You have gotten your reminder now. Scoot, asshole.

You're right! However, from the positive posts of other members towards me recently, I was also reminded what a great place this forum is. So I've decided to stay. As you once said...

I have let it go...any contempt I had of you has drifted away.

Hi!

I can see that this isn't going to turn out nice at this rate. Why is everybody being so mean to each other? I might be missing something, but why is everybody having a go at Rubicant? What's he done to get some of the comments? Even if I hated a member, I wouldn't post those remarks... I'd just leave them to cool off for a while...  :(

Original footage?

I'm guessing the argument won't carry on here now that Jari's made a new thread.

PumpkinPieman:  I liked the video.  That old fashioned video-reel look worked well with the earlier scenes, made you expect something new to come since it was showing the past.
I think Rubicant was expecting some ingame footage, though I don't think it would have worked well this this video.  The FMVs provided a nostalgic overview of FFVII, ingame footage would have detracted from its theme.
Makes me want to play FFVII again, haven't played it in many years. :P

<grin> not everyone has full access to their work computers. Half of my options are blocked off, such as installing software, or changing virtual ram settings. Besides...I'll get redmarked if a video is running on my screen while someone important walks by. I was going to watch it when I got home...but I forgot.

I picked up two games, and kinda lost track of time, yesterday. I picked up .hack, and Knights of the old Repulblic for the PC, which I haven't loaded, yet. I haven't even turned on my PC....got kinda caught up in .hack and the DVD movie that came with it.

You might want to hold down on the evil smileys and the attitude if you're trying to get people to do something for you.

I was acually trying to nake the video go in chronological order, I think I messed up a bit at the beginning of the video. lol

I wasn't really demanding them to do it, I had just noticed that there were 35 views and no responses. Which would lead me to believe that someone would have at least seen it. Attitude? lol I don't think I was really mad about the whole scenario, just puzzled that it didn't get responces until I pointed out that no one has.

I downloaded it, but my lovely little junkyard special of a machine here decided I should only get to hear the audio and not see anything.  :o Maybe I can mess with this thing some more and get it to play. If I can I'll let you know...... unless this thread is dead by then, in which case I shall keep my mouth shut, lol.

It was encoded with divx3 low-motion, so if you have divx installed it should work fine. You can goto the website to download the codec. www.divx.com

Well, thought I had DivX installed on here, but a second look, and sure enough, I was wrong, lol. I've had to wipe this thing so many times, I couldn't tell you for sure what I have installed on here. Downloading DivX now, be done eventually, then I can comment on it. If I don't come back, it means I either passed out or my computer blew up, either is as likely as the other with this thing  -_-

Edit: Sure enough, it worked, and with no internal explosions that I know of, lol. But very well done. Only thing, not Weapon one shown  :( Not my project, and therefore not my vision showing through, but I would have liked to see them shown in a tribute. Sure they didn't play as big a role as Meteor did, but they were a more immediate danger in the story, and a lot of fun to beat up, lol. But all in all, good work, congrats!

Well to me the weapons weren't very important to the plot of the story. I really tried to get as much stuff as possible in, especially near the end of the video. What I liked about the video was the underlying relations to the music, like the first one would be "Heaven coming down, as the sector seven plate is falling".
