in ff 7 when ever im playing and i have my midi volume set low, if i go to a diffrent area or enter a battle, my midi volume constantly resets itself and gets extremely loud!
so i toggle out and fix it in windows volume control then i go back to play with my music low and enter a new place and, boom, the volume is up WAY high all of the sudden..
any help would be great!
thanks.

Turn your speakers down maybe? I dunno...just an educated guess.

are you useing soundfonts? maybe it works not correct

Are you able to adjust the MIDI control from within FF7? It depends on your hardware, sometimes you can't.

Try reinstalling your sound-cards drivers. I used to have the exact opposite happen to me: windows would mute midi. hasn't happened latelty, though i can't remember what I would do to fix it. Try hiting "mute" then unchecking it? Also, make sure yo set the midi volume for your soundcard as well (your soundcard should have its own volume control software). there might be an incompatability going on.

I can't believe no one's suggested he try the "logarithmic volume control" option in the config. There's a big difference in volume behaviour between having it on and having it off. Some cards (like the AWE64) can only get correct control of volume when you enable it, other cards only get that when its disabled....

When I was playing FF7 with an Audigy card I gave up trying to correct the extreme quietness of the music. I bought the PS version :wicked:
