Okay, for PC version.
FF8:
How to have a enemy in the party?
And a proggie (for Qhimm to make  - one that by pressing hotkeys during the battle, you will change camera views - possible?
FF7:
How to hack the game so I can have Sephy in the party (Sephy not with a Sephirtoh patch) and control it w/o killing/reviving?
And the same as in FF8 : enemies in party!
-
hummmmmm having monsters would be cool but i think u cant do it dunno why but maybe
-
For your FF7 questions:
1. What you see is what you get. There is no known way to put Seph in your party besides using a save editor. The Sephiroth Patch is completely different than having Sephiroth in your party. The only way to control Seph is to kill and then revive him. I believe his status as computer controlled is determined by a single byte, and I once spent hours using Gamehack trying to isolate that one bit.2. There is no known way to do what you're asking.
-
2. Oh yes, changing camera angle is very possible. It just requires me to program a in-betwen layer between the game and DirectX. Shouldn't take me more than a month, and will fix it so that the battles will have higher resolutions too (as much as your card can handle). Too bad I simply don't want to spend a month on it...
-
You are correct, however we are talking about different things.
You are talking about camera angles in FF8 (which was FF8 question #2).
I was talking about Sephiroth (#1 FF7) and getting enemies in one's party for FF7 (#2 FF7).
-
Dagsverre - pretty please? :D
That would be a TOTALLY cool progge (camera view 'n better graphs (wheew!)! Go for it!
-
No, sorry. In two or three years you will all be drooling over Legacy and tell me I did the right choice...
-
dag':
a layer between directX and ff8? sounds like your what your ff8 config' does!
Sounds like you might already done it...
Legacy, huh? whats that?
-
Well, DirectX has many parts. I only created an inbetween layer for DirectMusic. To do this stuff I'd have to do DirectDraw and Direct3D, a vastly larger task.
Legacy is a game we're doing at www.legacy-ovwp.org ... basically it's a 3rd person story driven RPG, though it won't be linear like Final Fantasy. We aim it to be the best computer RPG ever...of course... ;-)
-
Sounds Smooth man Good Luck! Dont forget us if you go somewhere :)
-
You're making a game? Here's my suggestions.
1)Add Minigames which looks like RA2.
2)Make it an Instant(like diablo2.)
Bye.
-
A TPP RPG? Cool!!! Waiting for it :)
Joey : Why don't you make your own - you HAVE enough KNOWLEDGE about IT because YOU work at SquareSoft. It should NOT be a problem, should it?
-
Joey whats the bye thing for? anyway, Ged do you and Joey go back or something or is this just from his posts? ( i am refering to your built up rage for Joey ) ? LoL
-
It seems Ged has gotten tired of it. And yes, most of the regulars here go back a ways with Joey.
-
Mmmmmmmm.....At there they don't use C++ but an easier language which has a diffrent compiler(which I can't find anywhere) and the language goes something like this:
FF9_deflator()
If battle.fl/magic.ooo.tim = 123 then
Change_graphic = pixel 45,89 to 67,89
....and so on.
And we're not allowed to bring the compiler back here......
-
Um... I'll let an experienced programmer have the honor of answering this.
-
Some one make a FFVII config that lets you play mp3s insted of midis!
-
Joey, I hate to repeat myself but you speak of things you do not know about. What you have posted appears to be a script language, made for writing the storyline. I say this because it looks like it contains elements which must be tuned specifically for Squaresoft's proprietary file format...
It might of course be a non-C++ language, but the reason they've picked it would certainly not be that C++ is too difficult. The code you have posted looks more complicated than C++, if you can't grasp C++ you shouldn't really be programmer. I don't mean that everyone should be using C++ (they shouldn't), I mean that if you can't understand C++ because it is too difficult please consider calling yourself something else than "programmer"...
-
agreed, tho im good at visual basic and i cant get the hang of c++ yet, i wonder if you can call me a programmer :(
-
All things considered, I'm a "future programmer". I'm about 1/8th of the way through learning C. I can write basic, basic, programs. That's it.
Sir Canealot: Why not do it yourself?
-
Heeeeeey! TIRED? Naaahh.. Only school is the problem :) Too much work (wth did I choose the tough high-school )
-
Mmmmmmmm.....At there they don't use C++ but an easier language which has a diffrent compiler(which I can't find anywhere) and the language goes something like this:<P>FF9_deflator()
If battle.fl/magic.ooo.tim = 123 then
Change_graphic = pixel 45,89 to 67,89<P>....and so on.<P>And we're not allowed to bring the compiler back here......
Looks a bit like alternate basic or basic alternate (don't know how its called in English)
Its Visual Basic but you can create your own commands up to 8 bytes.
-
Wow, I can't believe you just revived a 4-year-old post. You'll probably get some guff from a moderator, so brace yourself.

Ooh, thread reviving and taking Joey's writings seriously are we?
Don't, and don't. Older topics are there for reference, not for discussion.
-
so lemme get this straight....we cant revive topics?
