Now here is one items on that list that is very weird, i have never seen this before and dunno if its a pc version

It looks legit to me... although I have never seen that packaging before. The seller has a good rating aswell from a hell of a lot of people.

But since when have EA taken over publishing rights for FF7....I was under the understanding the game wasnt being sold, or for that matter, being printed anymore.

EA taken over publishing, is that good or bad?

did they change the game or is it still the same?

I mean..It looks completely legit to me.....

WOAH

On the first item of the top link, look at the box shot of the back of the box.

Bottom left corner

"Asia Pacific edition"

Thats why...Its an asian copy...It seems to be in english, and as PC aren't zoned, you should be ok.

i dug up some info:

Well, there are two main reasons to dig this one back up: one, much like Final Fantasy VIII, the game was panned at its initial release by a few reviewers who were expecting another Diablo-style game, and it really deserves a second chance; and two, Eidos has rereleased FF7 in a "platinum edition" box (much like EA's Gold Classics boxes, except only a couple of years old) for around twenty bucks, giving people who missed out the first time a chance at the fun. (And we swear this rerelease has nothing to do with the about-the-same-time release, by Electronic Arts, of Final Fantasy VIII. It's just a coincidence in timing. Really.)

its says eidos is older then ea's?

Try applying the 1.02 Patch. Run the game in compatibility mode if you are on Windows XP.

Also, try playing the opening movie manually through Windows Media Player.. it could be a codec problem.

1.02 Patch: http://support.eidosinteractive.com/GI/CustomerSupport/Patch.jsp?patch=27&altList=true&game=79&platform=3

Upside Down Movie Patch:

I can't remember what codec you need to install to get FFVII movies to work... but maybe you should download and install the K-Lite Codec Package... that seems to have everything I need in it:

Try uninstalling them, athen re installing FF7...It may be you have newer versions of the codec, and it's messing about with the old ones.

atm, All I can remember is the Duck Tru-Motion codec is the video one, so perhaps you need to remove it and replace it with the one on the install disc.

I remember there being a link on another thread...of someone having the same problem....of the movies not working.....and the link he left worked, for him.... Couldn't have been that long ago, but I have no idea what thread it was. I think it was in the tweak forum.

Hmm...I think this was the one....
http://forums.qhimm.com/viewtopic.php?t=2719&highlight=codec

Looks to be a little different than what I remember...but it's worth a try, I guess.
