Title: Sometimes Red?
Post by: Kurono on 2004-07-16 17:39:33
Let me first start off by saying I'm glad I found this forum! Very resourceful and it my pc version of FF7 working better.

However, I did encounter a problem. The game plays fine and everything, but there are certain instances when the screen is red. I'm not sure if it's suppose to be like that, but it's really hard to see. The first instance of it happened when I was on the train, when you had to move through the cars because the security sensors detected the group. The screen start to flash red, making it really hard to see and navigate through the cars. At the time I did think much of it, but now I've encoutered it again, this time in the Honeybee Inn and I've taken some screenshots.

So is it suppose to be like this or is something wrong with my settings?

My system specs are:
P4 2.8C
512 DDR RAM
ATI RADEON 9600 PRO 128

For my FFV7.exe, I'm using the 1.02 one, the Chocobo patch and the music patch.

For my FF7Config.exe, 1.02 aswell. I ser the the Render to D3D, NVIDIA+RIVA 128 gives me a grid; NVIDIA+TNT shows no grid and plays well.

First of all, I cant speak for anyone else, but I only saw black screenshots.

But yes, at the times you mentioned, the screen is supposed to have a red tint over it, in my experience that tint is only present when playing in hardware rendering, or at least when the 8bit textures passes.

Oh well. If it's suppose to be like that, then I guess there's nothing I can do about it. Thanks for the responces.

It's NOT supposed to be all red like that. Normally you can see color just fine, just through the keyhole. I would say that this is some kind of alpha error, but this isn't my area of expertise.
