I made this thread similiar to the AC topic to pass on all the news on the next title from the FFVII : Compilation Project series called Final Fantasy VII - Dirge of Cerberus, and to keep the discussion on one topic. Found anything? Want to share anything? Please do. Since it's a news/discussion topic, it's not a dead even if nobody posted for a week. Little is known so far, except that the games is held 3 years after FFVII (1 after FFVII:AC) the main character supposedly to be Vincent. The plot seems to revolve around a group called DC and problems after Meteor crash thus leaving them underground. There may be encounters with other FF7 characters, so far on scans we saw Cait Sith, and Vincent was mentioning meeting with Reeves.
From the IGN article -
"As far as the storyline in this new iteration is concerned, there is still very little known about it -- except that it involves an underground soldier movement, a powerful Meteo spell hitting an unsuspecting town, and that somehow, Vincent Valentine is connected with both events."

Honestly, I say this whole thing sounds stupid, I smell whipe out. I didnt have a problem with this new movie, and even the cell phone game I let slide since it still had some RPG roots in it...
But this...please...

Report from TGS: I was pleasantly surprised with how the game looks. The still screenshots released on the web felt sort of nervous, but the fluid motion in the trailer at TGS washed away any doubt. The game looks cool.
As I suspected earlier, the game does have a MGS feel to it, although a bit less stealth and more action-oriented. I saw Vincent running around shooting, down a staircase to quickly turn and fire very rapid shots (like a machinegun) at a pursuing enemy, and also something looking like a sniper mode, with a simple green cross-hair. Saw a little bit of Cait Sith but not really any other FF7 cameos in the rather short trailer.

So will this game be an RPG or an Action game? Im not on broadband so I cant look at any videos :(

It will most likely be a stealth-and-shooting MGS-type action game with a heavy storyline. Square didn't say much on the type of the game however, but you can easily come up with such a conclusion after watching the screens (check the engine) and Qhimm's relation.

I dont quite like how theyre mass producing FFVII stuff like this, but then again, I love how theyre giving more depth to the characters...
IMO FFVII's story was a little sketchy, so its bout time they elaborate a bit on it... but I assume the sketchyness is just becuase of how Square translated it :p

I'm just kind of glad it was vincent, because there is just so much you can elaborate on. The whole beginings of the first ancient, and the story that led up to FFVII. I sure hope the game has alot of flashbacks.
