Title: Help! Movie problem! ><
Post by: Shadow Master T on 2004-11-20 19:26:25
The movies in this game don't work for me, none of them show up. I even tried copying the movies to the hard drive. So I found out about the patch to fix it, but I can't even open the patch! Does this mean i'm screwd?
(It gives me something like "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT" and the fact that the system file isn't compatible to operate Microsoft Windows and MS-DOS applications. (Rough translation from hebrew))

What version of Windows are you running?

I'm using Windows XP, and I've already read here that it's not recommended to use the patch and so I havn't  used it. (plus, the patch didn't even work anyways.)

For your "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT" problem, refer to this:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;324767

And yes you're right the patch isn't recommended as it replaces a DLS file without any warning.
More info about why the patch is bad can be found here:

As for your original problem, have you tried referring to the Great FF7 FAQ yet?
http://forums.qhimm.com/viewtopic.php?t=2670

(Refer to the 4th question from below -- "Problem: My movies play upside-down, or my movies don't play at all. ")

If those don't work... then I'll have to ask: Are you on Full Installation?
