Title: FF7 problem
Post by: iopq on 2004-11-26 12:37:47
ff7.exe doesn't quit when you tell it to
it goes to windows, but in processes you can still see ff7 loaded

it would be easy to fix, but I don't know how
I got windows XP

I had this EXACT same problem, iopq! Unfortunately, I never could fix it.

In the end, when ever I wanted to exit the game, I [alt-tab]'ed out and [ctrl-alt-del] it. Not the best solution, but I knew when it was really off.

I had suspected it was do to my install. The first time it was ok, then kept crashing. Reinstalled it (maybe installed in a compatibility mode), no crash but had this problem. Weird huh? All updates and fixes (except that fake version of the 1.02 patch).

Edit: "All updates and fixes" includes the official 1.02 patch, just not the fake one that is still lingering on the net.

Actually, now that i think about it, i had this happen to me nonstop until i reinstalled winblows...

And i think the 1.02 patch helped, as well...

I have the 1.02 patch... and I manually hex edited the chocobo races
and since they worked I know I didn't make a mistake there
but I guess it's a good idea to Ctrl Alt Del and just close the game that way... because that's what you end up doing anyway
and you don't have to go to the menu
