Title: FF7 Crashes on me When I Fight or go Into menu.

For some reason FF7 crashes on me when i try to access the menu or I go into a fight.

System Specs:  
Gigabyte Nforce2 Mobo
Athlon Xp 3200+
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro
1024 Corsair XMS TwinX
WD Raptor 10K RPM HDD
Creative Labs Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS
Running on Windows XP SP 1

Installed Regular XP Patch
Installed Upside Down Patch

Also I didnt install the show drivers.

Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like you're missing some files.  Did you download it? >=O

NEVER install "the XP patch"!

Whaddya mean, you didn't install direct-show?!  It's a vital component!

direct-show is part of DirectX as far as i know and it also comes with several video codecs so that shouldnt be a problem for some people i didnt have to do anythin to it after install except this.....

Providing your'e running WinXP locate the the ff7.exe file right click and select properties then select the Compatibility tab enabeld it and select Windows 95 from the drop down list.

I can't believe no one figured this out after furiously trying to get it to work in win2k it ended up going bye bye so i formatted installed WinXP Home SP1 installed FF7 enabled compatibility mode and set to Windows 95 straight away and tada works.
