I think it's really annoying if you can only save every 2 - 3 hours. That's why I am looking for a way how to save without the need of the save point.
I found a memory code somewhere which was said to be able to enable the ability to save anywhere. Oh well, the memory code didn't work. Probably it was for the 1.0 version of FF7 and I use the 1.02 version (Animevamp patch). And maybe it could be a problem that I use the German version of FF7.
I found 2 trainers which had the option "save anywhere". They didn't work either, again probably because I have the 1.02 version.
Does someone know where to get a trainer with the option "save anywhere" for FF7 1.02? Or does someone know which memory address to change with a memhacker in order to be able to save anywhere in FF7 1.02?

jsut save egularly imo 0.o

since you want to save everywhere, get a trainer.
dont get me wrong, people. i dont use trainer. im a hard core gamer and lots of respects for FF7
-
isn't tehre a way toa ccess the game save script? i reall gettinga save file that saves your game at the trainstation, just after you get off. But, there's no save point, which means info can be saved anywhere.. it's only a matter of executing the script artificially =/
-
That would involve findind a console within FF7, or writting one to force the game to run it.
And I have to agree, I don't use trainers and cheats. Theres no need in the best RPG ever made!
-
then live with regular save point, there is always a save point before a boss fight, so you should not worry about it

You want to save anywhere?
Get ePSXe, and the PS1 version of FF7. You'll have that feature, then.

Read...read it all.
Most importantly.....
Q: Where can I find the PSX BIOS? The emu asks me for it every time.
A: Please neither ask us nor the emu authors for the PSX BIOS file, we simply won't give it to you.....

It's possible to save anywhere in the PC version.. The next version of FF7w comes with that feature, check this SS. 8)

Ermm, what's FF7w?
-
A patch to make FF7 Windowed i think, but that really needs a save-anywhere feature?
-
FF7w will handle the normal patches, and will come with an optional Cheat plugin.
-
that means there is patches for FF7??
I already know about Chocobo PAtch, but other patches that i didnt know about??
-
hmm, so you could save a file and use a trainer in the memory sequnce an kill sepiroth? :wicked:

guys theres an easy solution if your using the PC version. Just get a saved game editor, go into item and give your self 99 Save Crystals
You know the crystal you get at the very end on the way down to fight sepy, it lets you save anywhere and its an item but in the game you only get 1! (i don't know if you can use it multiple times or if it disappears after using it once). if you can use it multiple times then give your self one and your set, otherwise give your self 99 copies of it, i'm sure you won't save 99 times in 1 session and even if you do you can just save, quit out give your self some more then keep playin
just don't go overboard with the editor and start editing your character stats and stuff cause that just ruins the game
-
I agree with Shadow, better yet, just complete the game first then you can jump overboard with the character editor (saved game editor)
-
That's when the word optional kicks in  .. The cheat plugin is not exactly a Trainer, but that's irrelevant, anyway it's more enjoyable to go thru learning limit breaks, and leveling up without the worries of getting "killed" (*hint* this doesnt give you insane amounts of HP/MP *hint*), then again if you want to go clean just dont enable the Cheats, which BTW are disabled by default.
Edit.. Adding lots of Crystals? You gotta be kidding.. Just save anywhere I can assure you is simpler.
-
its easier to just add crystals. I didn't say it was simpler
-
Actually, the save crystals don't work ouside of the northern cave, and don't work more than once.
Beleive me, i've tried =(

My Way:
Run FF7, and that's about it you can save anywhere.
Your Way:
Save at least once
Close FF7
Open Jenova
Edit it
Save the File
Open FF7
Load the Save File
Go to the Menu
Use the Crystal
Save the Game.
I think this shows what easier means.
-
when you put it that way it does look simpler and easier, but you still need FF7w

ok to aviod me being confused. FF7w come from Cetra patch, that windowed patch have save everywhere?
-
The Window patch comes from Ficedula, I adapted it into a Loader, that patches it into memory (you no longer need Cetra) insted of modifying the file. FF7w (my loader) comes with a Cheat Plugin that allows you to "Save Anywhere" among other things, you can grab your copy here http://forums.qhimm.com/viewtopic.php?p=53673#53673
