Title: problem with ati x800 platinum please help me out

i bought the official game...upgraded to 1.2 patch.  although i have an ati card, many say that the nvidia - tnt setting works well so i try it out (btw i got catalyst version 5.4)  i start up the game and the first menus letters are grey...when i get inside the game where cloud walks around, all the backround is black and i can only see cloud.  when i get into the battles everything is perfect except for the menus (which i dont care about, it only has a different color)  i really want to fix this and if any of you had this problem and found a solution it would be GREATLY appreciated....i have fiddled around with the ati settings soo much and nothing seems to work----when the new omega drivers come out for 5.4 i will DL that and mabey it will fix the problem.  anyone help me out =]

I have the same problem with my 6800 gt :(
My solution : play on my second pc with a geforce 2ti.

I Have no solution... disable aa and anis if you don't !

what a shame!  the character models and everything looks amazing with AA on too =[

New cards and new drivers = BAD for FF7.

You wanna go backwards =)

Also, FF7 never liked ATIs much, anyway.

i got a 9200 ati card...do u think that will work w/oo black problem>? i am desprate
